Job Description We are seeking a Senior IT Business Analyst - Medical Affairs to enable Gilead’s business strategies and operations by leading the evaluation, analysis, and planning of technology, processes, and related business needs. This role supports more efficient operations and accelerates the achievement of strategic business objectives.

The Sr. IT Business Analyst is a core job family within Gilead's broader Information Technology (IT) organization. The Senior IT Business Analyst partners closely with business leaders and IT stakeholders to develop a deep understanding of both business and technology domains.

They play a critical role in use case analysis, functional design, process mapping, testing, and validation of enterprise solutions. In addition, they lead the coordination of IT resources to deliver high-quality outcomes aligned with business priorities.

This role requires staying current with evolving business dynamics and emerging technologies to proactively recommend innovative solutions and future opportunities. This role serves as the Medical Affairs IT Lead Business Analyst, acting as a strategic partner to global Medical Affairs organizations.

You will drive both execution and strategic alignment between business priorities and technology investments. You will partner with business stakeholders to define and maintain both short-term and long-term technology roadmaps, ensuring alignment with evolving business needs and enterprise strategy.

You will also lead demand management, driving structured intake, evaluation, prioritization, and governance of initiatives across the Medical Affairs portfolio. You will lead and contribute to the evaluation and feasibility of new and existing technology products, systems, and applications.

As a trusted partner, you will build strong stakeholder relationships, ensuring alignment between business strategy and IT delivery. You will oversee the full lifecycle of business analysis and delivery, including planning, requirements, solution design, testing, deployment, and post-implementation optimization.

You will also model and promote a high-performance culture focused on data-driven decision-making, value realization, quality, governance, and compliance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Lead business requirements gathering and needs analysis for global Medical Affairs functions Partner with business stakeholders to develop and maintain technology roadmaps and demand plans aligned to strategic priorities Drive business case development, prioritization, and resource planning for new initiatives Analyze current processes and systems, recommending improvements based on business needs and industry trends Act as IT Product Owner/Manager for Medical Affairs technology solutions Manage vendor deliverables and ensure quality and accountability Develop and maintain current and future state process flows, requirements, and use cases Collaborate with engineering teams to define functional and solution requirements Support RFP processes, vendor evaluations, contract readiness, and compliance assessments (Security, GxP) Facilitate global workshops, stakeholder meetings, and working sessions Define and oversee testing strategies, including UAT and issue resolution Support solution deployment, communications, training, and change management Conduct post-implementation reviews and value realization assessments Manage enhancements, defect resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives Ensure all solutions meet regulatory, quality, and compliance standards Coordinate internal teams and external partners to deliver business outcomes Provide operational and sustainment leadership and issue resolution for systems within scope Minimum Required Education and Years of Experience: High School Degree and Twelve Year's Experience OR Associates Degree and Ten Years Experience OR Bachelor's Degree and Eight Years’ Experience OR Masters' Degree and Six Years’ Experience OR Ph.D.

Preferred Expereince: Degree in Computer Science or related discipline preferred Strong IT experience in enterprise environments Experience in business systems analysis, planning, budgeting, and resource coordination Medical Affairs domain experience Commercial domain experience (preferred) Experience in business process engineering, product management, and project delivery Experience with integrations, cloud platforms, and digital transformation preferred Knowledge & Skills: Strong understanding of Medical Affairs domains (Medical Information, Publications, Field Medical, Grants, Studies, etc.) Proven ability to manage global stakeholders and build strong partnerships Experience with platforms such as Veeva MedComms, iEnvision, Appian, AWS, and Azure Knowledge of GxP, validation, and 21 CFR Part 11 requirements Experience with AI/ML technologies and platforms (e.g., AWS SageMaker) Core Capabilities Include: Strong leadership and influencing skills across programs and initiatives Deep understanding of Agile methodologies, SDLC, and solution delivery frameworks Ability to translate business strategy into scalable technology solutions and roadmaps Understanding of enterprise architecture, integrations, and system design Strong understanding of DevOps and modern delivery practices, including CI/CD, automation, and release governance, with the ability to partner with engineering teams to drive continuous delivery, improve deployment efficiency, and enhance overall solution quality Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Knowledge of IT security, risk, and compliance requirements Ability to drive innovation and leverage emerging technologies High adaptability, learning agility, and attention to detail Additional Requirements: Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to operate in a global, fast-paced, and matrixed environment Willingness to travel as needed People Leader Accountabilities Create Inclusion - knowing the business value of diverse teams, modeling inclusion, and embedding the value of diversity in the way they manage their teams.

The salary range for this position is: $169,320.00 - $219,120.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary.

This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
