ABOUT THE TEAM The Lending Operations team sits at the core of OakNorth's commercial banking activity, ensuring loans are booked, managed, and maintained accurately throughout their lifecycle. We work closely with Credit, Legal, Finance, and the wider business to deliver seamless execution from deal close through to final repayment — maintaining the high standards of data integrity and control that our clients and regulators expect.

ABOUT THE ROLE We're looking for an Associate to join our Loan Operations team, taking ownership of loan booking and in-life management across a portfolio of Syndicated, Agency, and Bilateral facilities. You'll work with LMA documentation, maintain loan management systems, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure every transaction is processed accurately, on time, and in line with approved deal terms.

This is a detail-oriented role for someone who combines strong operational know-how with a continuous improvement mindset. WHAT YOU'LL DO Execute loan booking accurately and in accordance with approved deal terms and documentation. Manage in-life loan activities including rate resets, interest and fee calculations, repayments, rollovers, prepayments, and amendment processing.

Review and interpret LMA and other legal loan documents to ensure accurate setup and ongoing maintenance within loan management systems. Maintain and update loan management systems, ensuring data integrity and timely processing of all transactions.

Coordinate with internal teams to resolve booking discrepancies, documentation queries, and related issues. Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit standards, and regulatory requirements across all operational processes. Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce risk.

YOU'LL BE A GREAT FIT IF YOU HAVE… 2–5 years of hands-on experience in loan operations, lending operations, or middle/back-office functions within a bank or financial institution. Strong understanding of loan lifecycle management including disbursements, repayments, interest rate resets, and fee processing.

Experience working with Syndicated, Agency, and Bilateral loans, with familiarity with LMA documentation. Proficiency in financial reconciliations with a focus on accuracy and data integrity, supported by strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work confidently across cross-functional teams. A proactive mindset with a genuine focus on continuous learning and process enhancement. Nice to Have Advanced Excel skills or experience with other Microsoft tooling in an operational context.

Exposure to loan management systems or treasury platforms.
