ABOUT US At OakNorth, we're on a mission to empower ambitious businesses and the communities they serve. Since 2015, we've lent over $21 billion across the UK and US, helped create more than 58,000 new homes and 36,000 new jobs, and supported hundreds of thousands of personal savers — all while driving economic growth in the markets we serve.

ABOUT THE TEAM The People team at OakNorth is a collaborative, execution-focused function that partners closely with the business to deliver strong people outcomes. In India, we work alongside senior People Partners and People Ops to support a growing organisation across the full employee lifecycle — from onboarding through to performance and development — in a fast-paced, product-led environment.

ABOUT THE ROLE We're looking for a People Partner to support our growing India organisation, partnering closely with the Portfolio Monitoring, Credit Analytics, and Operations teams. This role blends hands-on execution with independent ownership across onboarding, engagement, performance processes, learning coordination, and employee experience.

It's ideally suited to someone who is confident partnering with managers, proactive in identifying people risks, and genuinely passionate about building a great place to work. WHAT YOU'LL DO Partner with managers on day-to-day people matters, acting as a trusted point of contact for employees through connects, pulse check-ins, and engagement conversations.

Proactively identify people risks and themes and work with leaders on mitigation plans. Own onboarding and early-tenure experience for new hires in collaboration with People Ops; support pre- and post-joining engagement to improve offer-to-join conversion and early retention.

Analyse onboarding feedback and drive continuous improvement to the new hire experience. Lead planning and execution of team engagement initiatives, partnering with stakeholders to ensure high participation and meaningful impact. Support performance and promotion cycles end-to-end, including process coordination, data readiness, calibration preparation, and partnering with managers on feedback, development conversations, and role clarity.

Support Training Needs Analysis (TNA) and learning programmes in partnership with L&D. YOU'LL BE A GREAT FIT IF YOU HAVE… 5+ years of experience in People Partnering or an HRBP role, with a strong understanding of the employee lifecycle, performance processes, and engagement levers.

Confidence partnering with and influencing managers at various levels to drive people outcomes. Strong communication, organisational, and execution skills — comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. A proactive, collaborative mindset with a genuine desire to support both people and the business.

Nice to Have Experience supporting teams within a technology or fintech environment. Exposure to Learning & Development programme design or Training Needs Analysis.
