The Senior Manager, Agile Product Owner helps Agile teams deliver solutions that meet customer and business needs. This role turns product strategies and priorities into clear, actionable work for delivery teams. You will serve as the voice of the customer, manage and prioritize the team backlog, and help ensure high-quality products are delivered on time.

You will lead Product Owners and partner closely with Product Managers, Scrum Masters, Engineering, Architecture, Quality Assurance, Operations, and business stakeholders. Success in this role requires strong Agile experience, leadership skills, and the ability to balance customer value, business goals, risks, and delivery commitments

Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain a healthy, prioritized backlog that aligns with business goals, customer needs, and product strategies.
  • Translate product roadmaps and priorities into features, user stories, and acceptance criteria that teams can execute.
  • Lead backlog refinement activities to ensure work is ready, well-defined, testable, and aligned with delivery standards.
  • Prioritize work based on customer value, business impact, risk, dependencies, and team capacity.
  • Serve as the voice of the customer and ensure delivery teams understand stakeholder and business needs.
  • Partner with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Architects, Engineers, QA, and Operations teams to define and deliver solutions.
  • Approve completed work and validate that features meet requirements, quality standards, and customer expectations.
  • Use Jira or similar Agile tools to manage backlog health, story progress, blockers, and dependencies.
  • Support Agile ceremonies, including PI Planning, sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, retrospectives, demos, and Inspect & Adapt activities.
  • Identify and resolve risks, blockers, dependencies, and prioritization conflicts, escalating when needed.
  • Coordinate release readiness activities, including communications, documentation, user readiness, and post-release validation.
  • Monitor delivery, quality, customer feedback, and operational metrics to improve team performance and outcomes.
  • Lead, coach, and develop Product Owners and Agile team members on backlog management, story writing, prioritization, and customer value delivery.
  • Promote Agile principles, collaboration, continuous improvement, innovation, and a customer-first mindset

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong experience as an Agile Product Owner in Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, ART, or other large-scale Agile environments.
  • Experience translating business and customer needs into features, user stories, and actionable backlog items.
  • Proven ability to manage backlogs, acceptance criteria, definitions of ready, and definitions of done.
  • Strong understanding of Agile planning, backlog refinement, sprint planning, PI Planning, and release management.
  • Experience working with Jira or similar Agile project management tools.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders across business and technology teams.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, prioritization, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience coaching Product Owners and improving Agile delivery practices.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, navigate ambiguity, and resolve dependencies and risks.
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to balance business value, technical feasibility, and delivery commitments.
  • Measures of Success: Backlogs are well-managed, prioritized, and aligned with customer and business goals.
  • Teams consistently deliver clear, testable, high-quality solutions.
  • Stakeholders have visibility into progress, risks, dependencies, and release readiness.
  • Agile teams deliver predictable business value and improved customer outcomes.
  • Product Owners demonstrate strong backlog management, prioritization, and customer-focused decision-making.
  • If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
  • For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 129,500 - 215,800 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
  • This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
