Reporting directly to the Global ITSMO Director, you are a strong and proactive leader with experience of Creating, building, implementing and running a global IT Asset Management capability at the highest level. This role leads the strategic development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Dyson’s global IT asset management function.
As Head of Group IT Asset Management, you’ll set standards, design processes, and oversee all aspects of IT asset lifecycle management - ensuring compliance with ISO 19770 and ITIL frameworks. This role spans international operations, with direct responsibility for team leadership, supplier management, and establishing automation best practices using top-tier tools such as ServiceNow.
You’ll build this capability from the ground up in a semi-matrixed environment, collaborating across regions and functions: Build and Lead Function: Design, launch, and mature a global IT asset management function - from blueprint to operational excellence.
Lifecycle Management: Direct end-to-end management of IT assets (hardware, software, licenses) across all regions, ensuring accuracy and optimization. Standards & Compliance: Develop and enforce processes aligned to ISO 19770 and ITIL, including audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
Team & Supplier Leadership: Manage direct reports and suppliers, setting clear KPIs and fostering high performance. Automation & Tooling: Architect and drive high levels of automation, primarily leveraging ServiceNow and exiting internal tools, to streamline tracking, reporting, and workflows.
Policy & Strategy: Set group-wide asset management policies, standards and strategic direction, balancing global consistency with local needs. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with IT, security, procurement, and business units in a semi-matrixed environment to enable asset transparency and value realization.
Data Accuracy: Ensure reliable asset data and reporting, leading continuous improvement and robust controls. Tool Selection & Integration: Evaluate, implement, and optimize asset management tools supporting ISO and ITIL requirements. Change Management: Champion process adoption, training, and communication across the organization.
Person specification / Core Competencies Passion: A person with genuine passion for exceptional Asset Management. Self-starter: You must be a self-starter and work autonomously to design, build, implement and run the Asset Management capability Strategic Leadership: Experience creating and scaling asset management functions globally, with proven vision and drive.
Collaboration: Skilled at working within semi-matrixed structures, balancing global standards with regional requirements. Supplier & People Management: Confident in leading direct reports and managing suppliers to deliver service excellence.
Technical Mastery: Deep knowledge of ISO 19770, ITIL, and related tooling (ServiceNow, SAM tools, Snow, etc.). Automation Focus: Demonstrated success in automating IT asset processes at scale. Attention to Detail: Obsessive about data accuracy, compliance, and process optimization.
Problem-Solving: Approaches challenges analytically, always seeking improvement. Requirements Significant experience leading IT asset management for a global organization. Proven track record of creating and embedding asset management functions from scratch.
Direct management of teams and suppliers in a semi-matrixed environment. Expertise in ISO 19770 and ITIL, including process design and implementation to standard. High proficiency in ServiceNow for automation and workflow configuration. Skilled in selecting and deploying asset management tooling to support compliance (SCCM, Snow, etc.).
Proven skills in strategic influencing, diplomacy, resilience. Qualifications Degree in IT, Business Management, or related discipline. Certified in ITIL and ISO 19770 (or equivalent practical expertise). ServiceNow certification or demonstrable advanced skills preferred.
