Purpose: Commercial Operations, Data Strategies is responsible for supporting the design and implementation of data systems and analysis that provides the strategic framework to support the Commercial organization which enables sales execution and business reporting, as well as sales force effectiveness and productivity while ensuring clear line of sight per system application and overall strategic alignment.
The Manager, Commercial Data Strategies will lead business data, system and infrastructure projects that support the DePuy Synthes Commercial Data Environments and tool sets used to provide access to support and govern data. This data includes all commercial data, End-User Sales Tracings, Foundational (Customer, Products, Structure, etc.) and Contracting Details data elements.
This position will report to Director or Sr. Manager in Data Strategies and will partner with other Managers/Supervisor for base business hand-offs. You will have multiple direct report responsibilities and will work closely with existing data management teams to ensure strategic alignment.
You will focus on data integrity, establishment of aligned standards, and work on identifying data gaps. Per gaps, will then align on harmonized approach to address across multiple BUs to ensure common approach. You will be responsible for the support of accurate and timely delivery of data by establishing and following efficient data processes, identifying issues, and working with business partners on resolutions.
Job Responsibilities: Provide Leadership and mentorship to the associates within the Commercial Data Strategies organization. Ensure that all team members have the vital technical and business skills to optimally meet their business objectives.
Hold team members accountable for defined goals and objectives that align to the organizational imperatives. Maintain strong working relationships with IT partners, developing their business knowledge and understanding of Commercial Data Strategies processes and capabilities.
Lead business requirements definition and gathering for any programs collaborating with all Data Warehouses in scope within areas of responsibility Strong partnering with IT to ensure system integration and approach data loads, governance, and logic.
Will develop and install appropriate levels of controls per interim data loads and focus on long term systems approach Active involvement in partnering with MDM around data management and alignment on customer definitions: UCN, INDV, and legacy information and will provide support to drive towards common levels of data definitions.
Strong collaboration with Data Integrity Manager and IT product owner to ensure comprehensive and aligned approach to IT roadmap per additional systems (i.e. CRM, Contracting & Pricing). Focus will also be on field deployment changes as it impacts analytical reporting and enterprise environments.

MBA or MS is preferred. Strong Data Management experience. Minimum 5 years’ work experience required, preferable in related field. Minimum 3 years’ people management experience. Proficiency (minimal to no training needed) in PC software (such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Windows).
Experience developing training materials and mentoring others. Experience developing and leading testing strategies. Knowledge of analytical tools (i.e., TABLEAU, Qlik, COGNOS etc). Leadership, collaboration, communication and analytical skills Ability to lead cross-functional teams, sometimes requiring running and leading without authority as needed.
Ability to work on multiple projects with conflicting priorities. Collaboration and Teaming - Working in a collaborative reporting structure and to be part of a project team. Strong intuition for business and technical skills. Strong project management skills Proactively sense and respond to problems and opportunities Experience with Commercial systems, (i.e., Compensation, Sales Analytics, Contracting systems) and data access methods.
Excellent verbal and written presentation skills. Preferred A focused degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, IT or Business-related field is preferred. Experience with Field Sales, Information Management/Information Technology, Contracting or Marketing organization preferred Experience with process improvement tools, e.g., SFE, LEAN/Six Sigma, preferred.
Ability to interact with senior levels of management and exercise independent judgment with regard to business decisions. Results oriented, Proven success in creative problem solving and team partnership. Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone Orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes.
The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals.

This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.
