NAB's Domain Delivery Cycle requires architecture to be embedded early in the delivery chain — shaping and assessing the pipeline of Business Outcomes and Epics, preventing ill-formed work from entering the backlog, and ensuring solutions align with technology strategy and patterns.

Essential capabilities: Deep technical knowledge and experience within the aligned security capability domain, enabling credible engagement with delivery teams, technology platforms, and vendor solutions — and the ability to function as the recognised subject matter expert on projects within the domain.

Ability to produce and maintain Domain Roadmaps that articulate the transition states, investment sequencing, and funded delivery plan required to realise the target state defined by the Enterprise Security Architect. Ability to inform and shape the domain delivery slate — working with domain stakeholders, Product Owners, and GS leadership to prioritise delivery based on risk, cost, feasibility, capability effectiveness, and strategic alignment.

Ability to translate a defined target state into a prioritised, sequenced roadmap of investments and transition states — and to clearly articulate the trade-offs of alternative sequencing to influence decision-making. Ability to support the Enterprise Security Architect — providing delivery-informed input into target state development, surfacing domain challenges, and translating strategic direction into executable architecture within the delivery cycle.

Strong influencing skills across project and domain stakeholders — able to shape architectural outcomes with Product Owners, delivery leads, engineers, RTEs, GS leadership, and business representatives without direct authority. Clear written and verbal communication — able to produce governance submissions, investment proposals, BOAs, ESAs, options assessments, and domain roadmaps that are actionable and fit for purpose.

Experience 16+ years experience in technology or security roles, with a significant portion in solution architecture, technical delivery, or hands-on security engineering within the relevant domain. Demonstrated experience producing domain or capability roadmaps that informed investment prioritisation and delivery sequencing within a large, complex enterprise.

Demonstrated experience functioning as an architectural SME on projects — providing technical authority, shaping solution direction, and influencing project stakeholders to adopt sound architectural approaches. Demonstrated experience working with domain leadership and product owners to prioritise and sequence the delivery slate, balancing competing demands across risk, cost, and strategic alignment.

Experience providing architectural oversight across concurrent projects, including solution endorsement, options assessment, and tech debt governance. Experience working within structured delivery cycles — embedded alongside product owners, delivery teams, and engineering in an agile environment.

Experience in Australian financial services or similarly regulated industries preferred.
