, India Job Family Group: Information Technology (IT) Worker Type: Regular Posting Start Date: July 23, 2026 Business Unit: Integrated Gas Experience Level: Early Careers Job Description: What’s the role Technical Asset Support (TAS) is a key enabler for the accelerated delivery of Shell’s Asset Management System and will help us to reach our ultimate potential in Downstream Manufacturing, Integrated Gas and Upstream.

TAS provides high quality and cost-competitive technical resources who are not physically present at site yet are an integral part of asset teams delivering value through end-to-end SEAM / AMS work processes. As an Associate Engineer - Digital & Drw Mgmt, you will support engineering document and drawing management in the energy industry by reviewing redline markups, updating and quality-checking technical drawings and documents, and ensuring compliance with document control standards.

It requires experience with AVEVA P&ID, MicroStation, EDMS, and SharePoint, along with the ability to interpret P&IDs, isometrics, and other engineering drawings, manage metadata, validate data quality, and support intelligent P&ID conversion and maintenance activities.

What you’ll be doing Review red line markup (RLM) changes in technical drawings, collaborating with team members, incorporating revisions, and contributing to overall work quality. Work in EDMS (Doc Management tool). Proficient in interpreting and understanding corrections, redline markups, and updates across related engineering drawings.

Proficient in AVEVA P&ID as an end user with strong practical working experience. Ability to read, understand, and interpret P&IDs, Isometrics, Plot Plans, and General Arrangement (GA) drawings. Strong knowledge of AVEVA P&ID application, including object attributes, relationships, and validation checks.

Generate and analyze engineering reports, line lists, equipment lists, valve lists, and other project deliverables from the AVEVA P&ID database. Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve AVEVA P&ID application issues related to drawing connectivity, database attributes, validation errors, and reporting inconsistencies.

Experience in preparing engineering documentation, drawing evidence, and technical records to support Root Cause Analysis (Why-Why Analysis) and incident investigations. Developed automated workflows and reports to enhance engineering productivity and data integrity.

Experience working in critical assessment and quality review environments, ensuring high accuracy and compliance. Hands-on experience in conversion projects from non-intelligent (legacy) to intelligent P&IDs, including data structuring and tagging.

Ability to analyze, extract, and interpret reports generated from AVEVA P&ID for quality control and data validation. Good understanding of engineering data consistency, tagging philosophy, and metadata management within P&ID systems. Interpret and validate Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) based on process engineering principles, plant operations, and maintenance requirements.

Identify discrepancies between P&IDs, PFDs, Isometrics, Cause & Effect diagrams, and other engineering documents. Perform engineering data validation to ensure compliance with asset tagging standards, drawing standards, and engineering best practices.

Understand process flow, equipment functions, piping systems, control philosophy, and instrumentation represented in P&IDs. Analyze the impact of proposed changes on equipment, piping systems, instrumentation, and associated engineering data.

What you bring A graduate engineering degree with 3+ years of relevant industry standard experience in combination of Process, mechanical, instrumentation & electrical disciplines. Ability to work effectively under pressure during peak workloads and provide flexible support across related processes within team scope.

Hands-on experience with AVEVA P&ID and MicroStation is mandatory. Performed data validation, consistency checks, and quality assurance of P&ID deliverables. Support Team Leads with drawing-related queries and technical support needs, including training site staff on software and request tools, and assisting with pilot tests and demonstrations.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to deliver analytical solutions are essential. Strong stakeholder management and time management skills are required. Candidates should demonstrate strong learning agility and a growth mindset. Excellent communication skills and a quick learner.

Be a good team player. Ability to prioritize and ensure delivery of priorities for the area of responsibility. Flexible and adaptable to change, with a track record of demonstrating initiative, analytical capabilities and problem-solving. Ability to apply engineering best practices, codes, and standards to identify issues, recommend improvements, and implement solutions.

Excellent stakeholder management with business interface exposure Strong interpersonal leadership skills are critical due to the requirement for effective communication of complex issues across multiple offices and teams. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple projects and programs simultaneously.

Ability to independently, resourcefully, and creatively research and implement new solutions. Ability to engage and effectively communicate at all levels inside and outside Shell and within different cultural settings. Strong interpersonal skills, ability to challenge and ability to build internal and external relationships based on trust and to integrate across multiple functions.

Competitive applicants will have a proven track record of delivery in Asset and/or Project. While the hubs will remain the core locations for SEAM, we will continue to use a distributed working model. This means that our preference is to appoint the best candidate for the job on local terms working virtually from their base country.
