About the team The Home and Neighborhood Monitoring team powers Ring's premium Virtual Security Guard service, delivering AI-powered threat detection with human oversight to millions of homes. We build mission-critical services across two specialized sub-teams: Agent Tool Experience (ATX) and Neighbor Experience (NEXT). This role sits across both teams, providing the architectural vision and design leadership that keeps our platform cohesive as each team tackles distinct problem domains. Our collaborative environment emphasizes mentorship and knowledge sharing as we maintain 14+ microservices with tier-1 reliability. We focus on pioneering the evolution from human-centered monitoring to AI-agent based detection while pushing the boundaries of real-time neighborhood safety through continuous innovation.
- 7+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience - 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing
