The pay range is $95,000.00 - $171,000.00 Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and in some instances may include education, work experience and certifications. As a Business Continuity Lead, Merchandising Process & Change , you will play a critical role in protecting business performance and enabling consistent, high-quality execution across the merchandising organization. We are hiring multiple Business Continuity Leads to support this new capability. This role supports the activation of a centralized merchant and planner coverage model designed to strengthen continuity, mitigate risk
  • elevate decision-making during key transition moments, including leaves of absence and other coverage gaps. Through this work, you will help drive both strong near-term outcomes and long-term organizational effectiveness. This is a strategic role positioned within the business to ensure continuity of critical merchandising decisions while advancing more consistent and effective ways of working. You will partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to provide coverage support, bring an objective, enterprise-wide perspective
  • embed best practices that strengthen execution across categories. Key responsibilities include:
  • Provide merchant or planner coverage to ensure continuity of assortment, inventory, and financial decision-making during periods of transition or absence.
  • Maintain business performance by mitigating risk associated with coverage gaps and ensuring timely, high-quality decision-making.
  • Bring a cross-category perspective to strengthen decision quality and drive consistency in execution across the merchandising organization.
  • Identify, document, and embed best practices to elevate ways of working and improve overall team effectiveness.
  • Support capability building by upskilling partners and reinforcing consistent processes and standards.
  • Partner with Merchandising, Planning, Inventory, and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and seamless execution.
  • Leverage enterprise-wide visibility to identify systemic opportunities and inform future process and technology improvements.
  • Contribute to the evolution of the centralized coverage model to enhance organizational resilience, agility, and performance over time. About you (experience requirements):
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in merchandising, planning, or related retail functions, with a strong understanding of assortment, inventory, and financial decision-making.
  • Proven ability to navigate ambiguity and operate effectively in dynamic, fast-paced environments, bringing structure and clarity where it does not exist.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence without authority, and align diverse stakeholders toward shared outcomes.
  • High level of initiative and ownership; a self-starter who proactively identifies opportunities, takes action, and drives work forward with minimal direction.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, including the ability to establish trust, anticipate needs, and identify enablers and potential roadblocks.
  • Demonstrated success leading across multiple, complex priorities simultaneously, effectively managing stakeholders across working teams, partners, and senior leadership.
  • Ability to bring an enterprise and cross-category perspective to decision-making, identifying opportunities to improve consistency and elevate execution.
  • Strong strategic and operational mindset, with the ability to balance long-term capability building with near-term business needs.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to tailor messaging, level of detail, and approach based on audience and context.
  • High degree of resiliency, personal accountability, and adaptability, with comfort operating in evolving environments.
  • Results-oriented and performance-driven, with strong organizational and execution skills.
  • Experience supporting or leading change initiatives, including driving adoption of new ways of working, is preferred.
