Job Title: Senior Director – Mergers & Acquisitions Infrastructure Integration Position Summary The Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Infrastructure Integration Leader is responsible for leading the successful assessment, absorption, integration, and transformation of infrastructure engineering and operations organizations acquired through mergers, acquisitions, and strategic business transactions.
This leader serves as the primary infrastructure integration executive, ensuring acquired teams, technologies, processes, and platforms are effectively evaluated, streamlined, and integrated into the enterprise operating model. This highly visible and transformative role focuses on accelerating value realization through the integration of people, processes, and technology while preserving critical business operations and minimizing disruption.
The leader partners closely with M&A Program Management, Enterprise Infrastructure & Technology Platform teams, Cybersecurity, Architecture, and Business stakeholders to define and execute integration strategies that align acquired organizations to the enterprise end-state vision.
Key Responsibilities M&A Integration Leadership Lead infrastructure integration activities for acquisitions, mergers, divestitures, and strategic transactions from due diligence through post-close execution. Develop and execute integration strategies, roadmaps, and operating plans that accelerate the transition of acquired organizations into the enterprise.
Serve as the infrastructure workstream leader, partnering with M&A teams to ensure successful project delivery, risk management, milestone achievement, and value realization. Due Diligence & Assessment Conduct comprehensive infrastructure due diligence assessments covering networks, cloud platforms, data centers, workplace technologies, telecommunications, security, operations, engineering organizations, vendor relationships, and support models.
Evaluate organizational structures, operating models, technical debt, platform redundancy, and process maturity to identify consolidation, optimization, and synergy opportunities. Provide executive-level recommendations regarding technology rationalization, workforce integration, operating model alignment, investment requirements, and integration priorities.
People Integration & Organizational Transformation Lead the integration of engineering and operations teams from acquired organizations into enterprise infrastructure and technology organizations. Partner with Infrastructure and Technology Platform leaders to define end-state organizational designs, role alignment, workforce strategies, and operational responsibilities.
Establish clear communication, change management, and talent retention strategies that support business continuity while creating a unified culture and operating model. Foster collaboration and engagement across newly integrated teams to accelerate productivity and organizational effectiveness.
Process Integration & Operational Excellence Assess and rationalize operational processes, governance frameworks, service management practices, and support models. Drive standardization of infrastructure operational procedures, service delivery models, change management practices, and engineering processes.
Align acquired organizations to enterprise standards, controls, compliance requirements, and operational performance expectations. Technology Integration & Modernization Develop technology integration and rationalization strategies across infrastructure platforms, tools, systems, and services.
Lead decisions regarding platform consolidation, technology modernization, cloud adoption, network integration, and operational tool standardization. Partner with Architecture, Security, Engineering, and Operations leaders to establish the future-state technology roadmap and migration strategy.
Identify opportunities to eliminate redundancy, reduce complexity, improve supportability, and lower operating costs while enhancing reliability and scalability. Enterprise Partnership & Collaboration Act as a strategic partner to Enterprise Infrastructure, Technology Platform, Security, Architecture, and Business leaders in defining integration priorities and future-state capabilities.
Collaborate with peer leaders to determine end-state organizational structures, governance models, ownership boundaries, and operational accountability. Build strong partnerships across technology and business functions to ensure alignment on integration objectives, timelines, and business outcomes.
Leadership Expectations Proven ability to lead complex organizational and technology transformations. Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders across business and technology functions. Demonstrated expertise integrating engineering and operations organizations while balancing business continuity, employee engagement, and operational excellence.
Strategic mindset with the ability to evaluate people, process, and technology holistically to drive long-term enterprise value. Results-oriented leader capable of rapidly assessing environments, establishing priorities, and executing integrations at scale.
Success Measures Successful integration of acquired infrastructure organizations and technologies. Achievement of synergy, simplification, and modernization objectives. Accelerated onboarding and productivity of acquired engineering and operations teams.
Reduction of technology duplication, operational complexity, and support costs. Establishment of a unified, scalable, and sustainable enterprise infrastructure operating model. Minimum Qualification & Business Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; typically 13+ years of professional experience with 6+ years of diversified leadership, planning, communication, and people‑management responsibilities.
Experience directing complex operations across multiple sub‑functions or geographic locations, with accountability for large budgets and enterprise performance. Demonstrated success leading transformation programs, vendor portfolios, and cross‑functional enterprise initiatives.
Proven ability to develop senior leaders, shape organizational strategy, and influence executive‑level decision‑making. This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
