Title and Summary Manager, Business Development Overview:
  • The co-brand business development team is responsible for driving Mastercard market share by successfully winning new co-brand deals (new to market and flips from competitive networks) and supporting renewal of existing co-brand deals for Mastercard.
  • This role will be primarily focused on supporting the digital team in securing non-traditional (fintech / Digital) payment products, such as, credit and debit co-brand programs through a thorough company evaluation and vetting process.
  • The team works across functions within Mastercard (digital, issuer, merchant, marketing, D&S, finance, legal) to bring the best of Mastercard to our potential partners. The role is goaled on driving new revenue and GDV for Mastercard and selling relevant bundled services to support partner success.

  • Sell Mastercard’s “Why co-brand” and “Why Mastercard” story into key co-brand partners (and renewals) including custom creative solutions for partners and bundling of services assets as relevant.
  • Educate digital / fintech partners on the “why Mastercard, why payments” story and partner through the development of a co-brand product.
  • Maintain up-to-date research on key trends and players in the fintech space and assist with developing a framework for identifying viable co-brand opportunities.
  • Create persuasive presentation documents (RFP responses, pitch decks, digital demos) that showcase Mastercard’s capabilities and align with partner needs in a customized and relevant manner
  • support customer pitches as needed.
  • Develop deals and run financial models for key partners in the co-brand digital / fintech vertical while partnering with digital, issuer, merchant
  • finance teams. Ensure offers are compelling / secure the deal while maintaining the best possible return for MA. Assist in negotiating in line with Mastercard’s strategic priorities, revenue
  • profitability targets.
  • Manage fintech co-brand business development Salesforce records and contract management process (ironclad), consistently updating all opportunities.
  • Support the evolving co-brand business development and digital partnerships team customer journey flow.
  • Collaborate with appropriate internal Mastercard teams (i.e., Finance, Product, Data and Services, Marketing, Law & Franchise, Issuer
  • Merchant Account Teams, etc.) and external partners (i.e., processors, bin sponsors, program managers) to execute deals post-win, including standing up co-brand products and ensuring cross-functional alignment and maximum support for launch efforts.
  • Cultivate external relationships with prospects, consultants, and business development teams for key issuers, processors, bin sponsors, and program managers to inform sales pipeline and process. All About You:

  • Knowledge of credit card business; experience in co-brands or similar card partnership development is preferred
  • LAC Region experience a plus

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
