- Amazon is seeking an exceptional Senior Software Engineer to own automation capability for next-generation advanced robotics systems. You will establish Amazon's simulation/emulation and automation competency at unprecedented scale, serving as the technical owner for automation pipelines, simulation/emulation test bed and related software systems across our product line. You will build deep partnerships with internal robotics teams, architect our simulation infrastructure
- influence product design from concept through production deployment. This role requires scaling automated testing and validation at volume including building adversarial models —combined with a career establishing software platforms, managing complex technical programs
- leading cross-functional initiatives. You will partner with engineering leaders across the robotics organization, shape our product architecture for testability and automation
- define our roadmap. Key job responsibilities - Provide the architectural vision for a digital twin-based, AI-driven autonomous validation framework using simulation as the baseline. Influence cross-org deliverables to meet the architectural vision and disambiguate technical needs from a validation perspective. - Digital Twin Enablement: Enable software hooks to realize digital twin capabilities and enable launchable instances of these digital twins with comprehensive metrics and observability. - Adversary Testing & Platform Integration: Interface with the platform team to enable adversary testing of the simulation platform, ensuring robustness and resilience under edge-case and failure-mode scenarios. - Setting HIL test beds and continuous validation. Building CICD pipelines - Virtualized Dynamic Environments for Field Testability: Provide virtualized dynamic environments that allow for realizing the testability of software in field environments, enabling rapid iteration and validation without physical deployment. - Safety Qualification through Simulation: Provide virtualized dynamic environments to qualify software for safety, ensuring compliance with safety standards and enabling rigorous validation of autonomous behaviors prior to real-world deployment.
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience - 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing
