Role Profile: We are seeking a Manager – Site Reliability Engineering in DPG and other IBS clearing services to enhance and support the Production Management leadership team at LSEG PostTrade.
This position calls for a proactive, hands-on leader who combines deep technical depth with strategic vision. In this role, the manager will be responsible for the reliability, resilience, and performance of production systems, while championing continuous improvement initiatives and embedding SRE best practices across the platform.
Strong business knowledge is required for working with business teams during investigations. They may be required to provide detailed technical support for developers producing bug fixes & new releases of these applications. Must be self-motivating with the ability to prioritise workload.
Key Responsibilities · Provide strategic technical leadership by acting as a senior authority in cloud platforms and automation frameworks, guiding enterprise-wide architectural decisions and driving adoption of scalable, resilient, and cost-efficient solutions aligned with industry best practices. · Lead major incident management as the executive incident commander , taking full ownership of high-impact production issues.
Orchestrate cross-functional response efforts, ensure effective stakeholder communication at all levels, and drive a culture of rapid recovery, learning, and resilience through structured post-incident reviews. · Champion innovation through emerging technologies , including AI and machine learning, by identifying strategic opportunities, securing stakeholder alignment, and driving the integration of next-generation capabilities to enhance reliability, efficiency, and operational intelligence. · Enable cross-team alignment and collaboration by acting as a senior liaison across multiple SRE and engineering teams, breaking down silos, standardizing practices, and ensuring consistent adoption of reliability engineering principles across the organisation. · Own and drive offshore governance and compliance , ensuring adhernce to mandatory training, regulatory standards, and technical governance frameworks.
Establish robust oversight mechanisms to proactively identify and mitigate compliance risks. · Define and evolve Incident and Problem Management strategy , ensuring frameworks are aligned with SRE principles and organisational objectives. Continuously improve processes to enhance service stability, reduce MTTR, and proactively prevent recurring issues. · Shape and embed a high-performance engineering culture that emphasizes accountability, ownership, continuous learning, and blameless post-incident reviews, fostering an environment focused on long-term reliability and operational excellence. · Drive visibility and accountability for technical debt and operational risk , ensuring gaps are systematically identified, documented, and brought up through executive governance forums, with clear prioritisation and remediation roadmaps. · Develop and mentor senior engineering leadership within offshore teams , building deep technical depth and leadership capability, enabling succession planning, and cultivating a high-performing, self-sustaining SRE organisation.
PERSON SPECIFICATION Education: Degree educated, preferably in a technical field Required skills and experience Must have 17+ years’ experience in Technology Operations, Site Reliability Engineering, or Production Engineering within large‑scale, complex environments.
Demonstrable experience leading offshore or globally distributed production teams for atleast 10 years. Demonstrated success implementing SRE practices at scale (SLIs, SLOs, Error Budgets). Strong track record transforming traditional ITIL‑based support models into SRE operating models.
Deep expertise in Incident, Problem, and Change Management, including major incident leadership. Demonstrable ability to reduce operational toil through automation and engineering‑led solutions. Hands‑on experience supporting services through on‑prem to cloud migration.
Strong customer management skills across onshore, offshore, and senior engineering leadership. Experience supporting critical, 24x7 production systems. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Solid understanding of product development lifecycle and methodologies Good knowledge of DevOps and its related Technologies : CI/CD , Gitlab, Kafka Good knowledge of AWS Cloud Technologies ( EC2, EBS, RDS, VPC, Aurora, MSK, ALB, ECR) Knowledge of EKS or Anthos Good SQL Coding skills ( Oracle SQL ) Experience in Configuring and monitoring using DataDog Experience with IBM MQ and other Middleware Services Knowledge of Network Diagnostics & Web Servers Experience in Service Now Benefits We are looking for intellectually curious people, passionate about the bigger picture of how technology industry is evolving, ready to ask difficult questions and deal with complicated scenarios!
