Job Title Azure Platform Engineer - Senior Associate Role Summary & Role Description We are seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Associate Azure Platform Engineer to join the Platform Engineering team within the Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE).

In this role, you will contribute to the design, implementation, support, and continuous improvement of Azure platform capabilities that enable secure, compliant, and scalable cloud solutions across State Street. You will work closely with platform architects, senior engineers, security teams, and application teams to deliver Azure infrastructure, automation, governance, and operational capabilities using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and cloud engineering best practices.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with a passion for cloud technologies, automation, and operational excellence, who enjoys solving technical challenges in a highly regulated enterprise environment. What You'll Do Platform Engineering & Service Enablement Implement and support secure, scalable, and resilient Azure infrastructure solutions aligned with enterprise standards.

Assist in enabling Azure services and platform capabilities through standardized and reusable deployment patterns. Contribute to Azure platform enhancements, service onboarding activities, and platform modernization initiatives. Follow established architecture, security, governance, and resiliency frameworks when delivering solutions.

Infrastructure as Code & Automation Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform and scripting technologies. Support automation initiatives across provisioning, configuration management, validation, monitoring, and operational processes.

Enhance deployment consistency and operational efficiency through automation and reusable modules. Participate in CI/CD implementation and platform release activities. Collaboration & Workload Support Work closely with application and development teams to understand workload requirements and support Azure adoption.

Provide guidance on Azure platform services, deployment patterns, and cloud best practices. Collaborate with platform architects, security teams, and operations teams to ensure compliant and reliable solutions. Operations & Platform Reliability Monitor platform health using enterprise monitoring and observability tools.

Troubleshoot platform issues, perform root cause analysis, and support incident resolution. Document solutions, operational procedures, and technical implementations. Participate in operational improvement initiatives to improve platform stability and reliability.

Continuous Improvement Contribute to the improvement of Azure platform standards, reusable modules, automation frameworks, and governance controls. Stay current with Azure services, cloud-native technologies, and industry best practices. Support initiatives focused on security, compliance, cost optimization, developer experience, and operational excellence.

Promote automation-first engineering practices and continuous learning within the team. What We Value Strong hands-on experience working with Microsoft Azure in enterprise environments. Solid understanding of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), automation, and DevOps practices.

Practical experience supporting secure and compliant Azure platform services. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an automation-first mindset. Ability to work effectively in collaborative, cross-functional teams. Eagerness to learn new technologies and continuously improve technical expertise.

Strong verbal and written communication skills. Accountability, ownership, and commitment to delivering high-quality solutions. Education & Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline. 5+ years of IT experience , including 3+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure .

Experience working with Agile delivery methodologies and modern SDLC practices. Working knowledge of Azure DevOps, Harness, ServiceNow, or similar tooling. Experience with Azure IaaS, PaaS, networking, security, governance, and monitoring services.

Hands-on experience with Terraform, ARM/Bicep templates, or other IaC technologies. Scripting experience using PowerShell, Azure CLI, Python, Shell scripting, or equivalent technologies. Experience in one or more of the following Azure domains: Core Infrastructure (Compute, Storage, Networking) Azure Security & Identity (Azure AD/Entra ID, Key Vault, RBAC) Containers & Integration (AKS, Event Hubs) Data Platforms (Azure SQL, Data Factory, Databricks, Cosmos DB) Understanding of Azure Policy, governance, cost management, and compliance controls.

Familiarity with authentication protocols, SSL/TLS, and cloud security principles. Experience in regulated industries such as financial services is preferred. Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-400, or equivalent) are desirable.
