Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine R&D is recruiting for a Manager, Resource Decision Support. This position is a hybrid role and can be located in Titusville, NJ; Raritan, NJ; or Spring House, PA. The Manager, Resource Decision Support, will support R&D senior leadership by delivering business insights related to demand forecasting to drive therapeutic area (TA) portfolio and project decisions.

Working closely with Global Development Delivery Units, Therapeutic Area (TA) Finance, Capacity Management, and other departments, this individual will develop and implement new processes, analytics, and visualizations to support the Portfolio Performance and Resourcing (PPR) vision.

This role will partner extensively across the Global Development organization and interact with senior leaders from PPR Business Growth Innovation and Advocacy (BGIA), Delivery Units, Finance, Capacity Management, Business Operations, IT, and external partners as needed to support portfolio and resource decision-making.

This position calls for individuals who can demonstrate their ability to think strategically and build strong professional relationships across different areas of the organization to advance our strategic goals. Utilize interpersonal skills to translate complex technical approaches to simple and clear recommendations for decision making.

A clear understanding of the business environment with strong organizational awareness will also be significant for success. Principal Responsibilities: Foster a team culture passionate about continuous improvement and promoting collaboration.

Help build new service model and end products for the RDS department. Partner with other Global Development and Finance leaders, as needed, to build new innovative analytics and visualizations. Build and maintain forecasting models to support TA staff planning, as needed.

Produce high-quality and comprehensive reports that consolidate cross-functional insights across PPR departments including forecasting model changes, portfolio change, function/team level risks, and supply/Flex analytics. Present findings in a clear and impactful manner to both internal and external parties involved in decision making.

Communicate insights and suggested business actions in a way that is easy for everyone to understand. Apply strong business and financial acumen to evaluate resource implications, portfolio trade-offs, and investment decisions across the development portfolio.

Collaborate with important individuals in a business partner role to incorporate the benefits of forecasting models into decision-making processes. Partner with Finance, Business Operations, Capacity Management, IT, and other functions to deliver coordinated, end-to-end solutions to emerging business challenges

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in a scientific or business discipline.
  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in portfolio management, forecasting and resourcing, data analytics, or data science is required.
  • Strong business and financial acumen with the ability to connect analytical insights to business outcomes and strategic decisions is required.
  • Project and/or portfolio management experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the drug development process is preferred.
  • Experience in Neuroscience and/or Cardiopulmonary therapeutic areas is preferred.
  • Experience with Tableau, Power BI, R/Shiny, or other analytical visualization tools is required.
  • Knowledge of Planisware is preferred.
  • Experience collaborating across geographies and functions is required.
  • Demonstrated leadership success in driving cross-functional initiatives and influencing stakeholders across a matrixed organization is required.
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must demonstrate high learning agility and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Must be an innovative thinker with the ability to experiment in the pursuit of efficient, data-driven decision making.
  • The ability to think strategically, build organizational awareness, establish strong professional relationships and drive change with diverse stakeholder groups is required.
  • This position will require up to 10% domestic and international travel. #LI-Hybrid Required Skills: Preferred Skills: The anticipated base pay range for this position is : $117,000.00 - $201,250.00 Additional Description for Pay Transparency: Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).
