- other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity. We are seeking a talented and motivated Production Supervisor to lead production operations at Leo. This role will be 4/10 hour days on BHD shift, Wednesday-Saturday 630am-5pm. Key job responsibilities - Hire, develop and supervise leads and a large group of highly skilled technicians focused on Kuiper satellite production. Includes annual reviews, career development and managing corrective and disciplinary actions. - Coordinate with other Kuiper leaders and manufacturing engineers to plan and coordinate daily tasks for technicians and activities of all operations with an ability to adapt to changing schedules and other dynamic priorities. - Establish on-the-job training programs and standardized opportunities for team members to learn new skills and progress in their career. - Independently manage Technicians that perform integration and test of the Kuiper satellite and various complex sub-assemblies in a clean-room and ESD controlled environment. - Inspect and verify your team’s work after completion to ensure engineering and quality standards are met. - Author, maintain

A day in the life The Production Supervisor will work closely with cross-functional engineering, test, enterprise, quality and operations teams on production hardware integration processes and systems. This is a critical role leading the technician team on the production floor. This position requires a high degree of skill in many areas, including technical leadership, technician development, mechanical assembly and testing, avionics integration, troubleshooting, electrical checkouts and environmental testing. In short, you will be responsible for ensuring high quality, workmanship and safety standards are adhered to on a daily basis across the technician team. You will also help lead long term production planning, team organization, team building and hiring for essential roles across your team. About the team The Leo Propulsion Team is responsible for the design and development of the propulsion system which provides maneuvering capability to the spacecraft. The Propulsion Team is made up of a variety of sub-teams which are responsible for various aspects of the development process, such as mechanical design, systems engineering, subject matter experts, manufacturing
- test. This integrated team structure allows direct communication and rapid process feedback while also promoting close collaboration across the team.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience - 2+ years of professional experience leading a team - 5+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical or electrical hardware assembly, test, and/or installation
- Experience hiring, training and leading production teams. - Experience implementing lean/six sigma principles in a production environment. - Experience helping develop enterprise manufacturing systems and assembly lines. - Experience in the aerospace industry, automotive industry, medical device industry, aviation, military or other high-reliability operating environment. - Experience in an ambiguous, fast-paced production environment. - Experience working with FOD, ESD sensitive hardware and clean room requirements. - Skill in operating and manipulating machinery and various hand and power tools requiring manual dexterity. - A demonstrated ability in reading/writing/creating/understanding technical drawings, work instructions, test plans and standard operating procedures - Detailed knowledge of electrical, optical and mechanical systems, antennas, functional testing and satellite components - Ability to adapt while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment - Strong understanding of supply chain management in aerospace/satellite industry - Proven ability to influence and drive technical decisions at senior leadership levels Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability
