As Sr MANAGER – HR Shared Services, Pay, Timekeeping and Scheduling Team, you will enable high performance by fostering a reliability-centered culture and leading critical HR service delivery operations for Target. You will provide strong leadership by attracting and developing talent, enabling continuous learning, strengthening operational capability, and optimizing team effectiveness.

You will play a key leadership role in advancing a reliable, digital-first, and team-member-centered HR Shared Services model. This role requires a leader who can balance strategic thinking with operational discipline, lead through ambiguity, build strong partnerships across HR and business teams, and develop talent for current and future business needs.

As an HR Shared Services Sr. Manager, you will take the lead as you drive: Strategy, Service Delivery and Operational Leadership Lead HR Shared Services teams responsible for pay, timekeeping, scheduling, and relevant HR lifecycles, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant service delivery.

Define and execute strategic and operational priorities that strengthen service quality, productivity, risk management, and team member experience. Translate enterprise HR priorities into clear team goals, service expectations, operational plans, and measurable outcomes.

Ensure core HR processes are delivered on time, within expected service levels, and in alignment with defined policies, controls, and compliance requirements. Establish and continuously improve operating routines, performance metrics, process controls, escalation paths, and governance mechanisms.

Use data, case trends, insights, and operational reporting to identify experience gaps, process risks, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement. Build strong partnerships with HR leaders, HR COEs, Product, Technology, and other cross-functional teams to deliver consistent and scalable HR support.

Lead and support high-priority initiatives that improve operational efficiency, simplify work, enhance process reliability, and strengthen enterprise HR outcomes. Serve as a senior escalation point for complex, sensitive, or high-risk issues, ensuring appropriate judgment, timely resolution, confidentiality, and stakeholder partnership.

Digital Enablement, Automation and Continuous Improvement Champion a digital-first HR Shared Services experience by strengthening self-service, knowledge content, automation, and AI-enabled support pathways where appropriate. Identify patterns in inquiries, manual work, repeat contacts, escalations, and process breakdowns, and translate these insights into recommendations for content, workflow, automation, or system enhancements.

Partner with Product, Technology, and HR stakeholders to support testing, rollout, adoption, and stabilization of new tools, workflows, and system improvements. Drive digitization and automation opportunities that improve speed, accuracy, consistency, and scalability while maintaining appropriate controls and human judgment.

Support continuous improvement efforts by applying structured problem-solving, process discipline, and data-informed decision making. Ensure new and improved processes are clearly documented, effectively communicated, and consistently adopted across the team.

Team Leadership and Capability Building Lead, coach, and develop a team of HR Shared Services leaders and specialists, creating clarity around priorities, performance expectations, service standards, and ways of working. Build a high-performing, inclusive, and resilient team culture grounded in accountability, learning, adaptability, collaboration, and care.

Develop talent through coaching, feedback, career development, succession planning, and capability-building experiences. Strengthen team capability in HR operations, digital tools, data interpretation, problem solving, process improvement, stakeholder management, and service excellence.

Plan and structure resources effectively to meet business priorities, service demand, project needs, and operational commitments. Foster strong communication rhythms that ensure alignment, transparency, and clear ownership across the team. Inspire creative and critical thinking, encouraging the team to challenge the status quo, solve problems, and continuously improve the team member experience.

About you: Graduate in any discipline 12–15 years of relevant experience in HR operations, payroll, shared services, service delivery, or related business operations. 5+ years of people leadership experience, preferably in HR Shared Services, payroll, high-volume operations, or digital service environments.

Experience leading teams through operational transformation, process improvement, digitization, automation, or technology-enabled change. Strong problem-solving, decision-making, organizational, and prioritization skills. Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate, and build trust across functions and leadership levels across geographies.

Data-informed and improvement-oriented, with the ability to translate trends, insights, and metrics into practical action. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a high degree of sensitivity for confidentiality and team member trust.

Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity, manage competing priorities, and adapt to evolving business needs. Demonstrates resilience, courage, inclusion, accountability, and a commitment to building strong teams.
