Senior Paralegal
Job Title: Senior Paralegal Travel: Continental US * * * The Opportunity: CACI is looking for talented Senior Paralegal professionals to support the Department of Justice’s mission for the National Fraud Enforcement Division! Positions like this are critical and are very involved with high-profile important cases.
Paralegal duties focus upon litigation support as we prepare for trial in the coming months. The assignments evolve and we would like to be able to add complex responsibilities for a capable candidate. Responsibilities
Performs detailed reviews and analysis of case materials, which includes financial records, health care materials, and other litigation files Performs detailed indexing of case files; drafting procedures for accomplishing litigation support assignments; document acquisition related tasks; screening for privilege documents; and conducting database searches Composes written documents in a concise and logical manner, Proofreads and edits written documents As required, serves as "team leader" for a group of legal professionals Reviews audio files for relevance and update databases with findings Prepares witnesses, exhibits and other evidence binders Receives and track discovery items Communicates with other DOJ components, Federal agencies and others as required during investigations and litigation Utilizes Excel spreadsheets to track information and analyze case statistics Compiles, prepares, and summarizes relevant materials for use by attorneys in discovery and in preparation of motions, briefs and other legal documents Summarizes depositions and other transcripts; maintains case files; performs simple legal research; indexes, tracks and controls document discovery (including documents produced and received in discovery) Perform trial preparation tasks to include copying, document review, document organization, bates stamping, legal research and searching documents in Concordance/Summation During trial, assist with documents and indexes, tracks exhibits and other materials at depositions Utilize electronic and evidence management and discovery production processes and tools, such as Relativity, Casemap and Oncue, to support investigations Searches the Relativity database per criteria developed by case team management Reviews search result sets for relevance based on written criteria Codes relevant documents per existing protocol Responds to citizen and congressional correspondence; Responds to citizen phone calls Qualifications
Required
- Requires paralegal certificate, or JD, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study, or an equivalent level of legal training or experience
- or an equivalent level of education may be substituted.
- At least two years of litigation paralegal experience required; trial experience very helpful.
- At least one year of experience in automated litigation support.
- Sound working knowledge of federal and state court system, legal research procedures, and legal research resources.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw.
- Hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, imaging
- hardware systems, e.g., Relativity, Excel, JEFS/Box.com, Word, Zoom, Teams, Power Point
- social media tools Hands-on familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources.
- Ability to consistently deliver highest quality work under extreme pressure.
- Advanced skills with Excel.

- Pay Range: This posting is for a position covered by the Service Contract Labor Standards (SCA).
- The pay and benefits provided for this position will meet or exceed the minimum required amounts detailed in the wage determination issued by the Department of Labor and made applicable to this position, as incorporated into CACI’s government contract for the work location.
- Minimum Required Hourly Wage: $31.69 There are a host of other factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographical location, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
