Your Impact Cisco is seeking a Solutions Engineer (SE) with a primary skillset in Cloud & AI (Data Center) infrastructure solutions and secondary knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Cyber-Security, Enterprise Networking, and Collaboration.

The Solutions Engineer is a customer-focused technical sales professional who ensures that technical information and guidance is provided to the customer, delivering meaningful outcomes based on Cisco’s product and services portfolio. The SE will partner with our specialist Inside Account Executives (iAE) in a pre-sales technical function, showcasing Cisco solutions, providing customer presentations, performing technical demonstrations, creating BoMs, and running proof of concept activities.

The SE will partner, consult, influence, and design solutions to allow the customer to meet their desired outcomes. In addition to technology aptitude and the ability to learn quickly and stay current; the ideal candidate's interpersonal, presentation, and troubleshooting skills should evoke passion and confidence.

Including the above, the SE will perform the following: Become a trusted technology advisor to the customer and the Cisco account team. Leverage an array of Cisco technology, services, and support specialists when necessary. Collaborate closely with iAEs in account planning activities.

Educate the customer on Cisco differentiation, creating demand. Work with key partners to scale and set a brand preference to Cisco. Align Cisco’s product and services capabilities to customers business drivers

Minimum Qualifications

  • If you enjoy selling in a changing environment, are goal motivated and believe in performance rewards for exceeding annual sales goals through strong collaboration with partners and internal collaborators, we have a place for you. 3+ years’ B2B selling experience in a similar or adjacent industry.
  • History of career progression and desire for professional development.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills with the team on the territory.
  • Strong relationship management skills to build trust and drive results with partners and customers.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in physical sciences, engineering, economics, or mathematics.
  • Preferred Qualifications Demonstrate strong sales achievement i.e., consistent achievement at or above quota, or a history YoY growth in your target market.
  • Highly motivated with a “hunting spirit” to assist Account Executives in developing new opportunities and growing business.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate customer business needs into technical requirements.
  • CCNA, CCNP, CCIE or similar vendor certification preferred.
  • Knowledge about the market, competition including solution, technology and offerings.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills with the team on the territory.
  • Strong relationship management skills to build trust and drive results with partners and customers.
  • Pre-sales experience preferred.

  • Message to applicants applying to work in the U.S. and/or Canada: The starting salary range posted for this position is $153,000.00 to $198,900.00 and reflects the projected salary range for new hires in this position in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including incentive compensation*, equity, or benefits.

  • For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows: .75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota
  • 1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%
  • 1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%
  • and Once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.
  • For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay 0% up to 125% of target.
