About The Role

About the role: The Legal Counsel will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal services to the Bosch Group India, specifically focusing on the IT and ITES services. This position is to predominantly provide legal services for Bosch Global Software company (BGSW) and support to it's worldwide businesses for IT & ITES services

Key Responsibilities

  • Transactional Contracts: Draft, review, and negotiate various contracts for business units to facilitate the achievement of business objectives.
  • Ensure all contractual agreements comply with relevant laws and internal policies.
  • Software licensing, Saas, Paas and other software agreements.
  • Cloud computing to assist business Review and negotiate contracts, Government/ private bids, strategic collaboration, structure consortiums etc.
  • Business Advisory: Participate and provide legal advice to business units regarding IT & Software related, Cyber security, Data privacy and Intellectual property and effectively identify risk factors to provide timely legal advice to enable business growth and global compliance.
  • Be updated and keep track of new laws/ legal trends in the areas of Data protection, AI, use of tech tools and others, Proactively identify and assess potential legal risks to minimize liability exposure for the Company.
  • Stakeholder Management: Communicate and coordinate effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure that all purchase and service agreements adhere to the legal framework, promoting business continuity.
  • Risk Management: Collaborate with the Senior Legal Counsel to conduct risk analysis on potential legal issues.
  • Evaluate different risk factors related to business decisions and operations, implementing strategies to minimize liability.
  • Key Result Areas / Indicators: Effective and timely closure of deals and transactions, directly contributing to business continuity.
  • Achieve positive feedback from stakeholders, reflecting timely and high-quality deliverables.
  • Ensure timely updates and conduct trainings on changes in the legal framework relevant to the business.
  • Timely reporting and escalation of identified legal risks

What We’re Looking For

  • Education: Law degree (LLB) from a Tier 1 or Tier 2 Indian law college.
  • LLM or specialization in relevant legal fields is an advantage.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in contracting and advisory in the IT & ITeS sector, digital business
  • prior experience in reputed law firms or as in-house counsel supporting in relevant area is highly preferred

Skills

  • Strong contract management and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in laws relating to IT, Cyber security, Data privacy, Intellectual property & software related laws.
  • Analytical thinking, effective communication, and proactive risk management.
  • Ability to collaborate across departments, lawyers from other jurisdictions and work with external counsels.
  • Experience gained from a reputable commercial law firm and then made transition to the in-house legal team of a recognized entity particularly in sectors such as IT, ITeS, digital or other technology.
