  • Amazon is seeking a Senior Manager to join its Strategic Tax Planning group. Strategic Tax Planning supports Amazon's Tax leadership in making well-informed decisions about long-term tax planning and policy initiatives. The role combines U.S. Outbound (USOB) international tax planning with ownership of the quantitative analysis that informs decision-making and implementation. In this role, you will drive significant initiatives with other tax team members on a wide variety of projects spanning international planning topics, including 951A/GILTI, foreign tax credits (FTC), Subpart F, BEAT, FDII, DCL/anti-hybrid and Pillar Two. The role requires in-depth U.S. international tax technical knowledge, the ability to evaluate and advise on international business initiatives
  • the quantitative skills to translate technical conclusions into modeling analysis. The successful candidate will run projects end-to-end with minimal direction while collaborating effectively across tax teams and with external advisors. The candidate demonstrates strategic judgment, attention to tactical detail, the ability to identify and manage tax and execution risks
  • comfort driving projects forward through ambiguity. This position is not directly involved in compliance but is responsible for planning, real-time coordination
  • communication of tax-related projects while owning the modeling that supports those projects. Key job responsibilities - Develop and implement international tax planning strategies across USOB topics, including 951A/GILTI, foreign tax credits (FTC), Subpart F, BEAT, DCL
  • FDDEI. - Stay current on changes in international tax laws and regulations, with particular attention to U.S. tax reform, Pillar Two and anti-hybrid rules
  • evaluating the impact on Amazon's global operations. - Prepare and review comprehensive technical documentation and memoranda containing well-reasoned, supported
  • clear conclusions. - Work with outside tax advisors on discrete projects and matters requiring external expertise. - Communicate complex tax concepts, in writing and verbally, in ways that are meaningful and useful to non-tax professionals, including executive leadership. - Collaborate across all tax groups, including M&A, Tax Planning, Tax Policy, Reporting and Compliance
  • Tax Provision. - Foster robust relationships with cross-functional teams such as Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis
  • Tax Reporting. - Gain a comprehensive understanding of the operational, data
  • information needs for tax planning, including the analysis of tax data and calculations
  • familiarity with Amazon’s technology landscape and interfaces. About the team Strategic Tax Planning helps Amazon’s Tax leadership make well-informed decisions about long-term tax planning and policy initiatives. We dive deep into finance and provision forecasts
  • work closely with planning and business teams to help solve problems across many tax technical areas.
  • 9+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience - Experience in taxation in a corporate environment, public accounting firm or major law firm - Experience with tax modeling in Excel-based models or other similar programs - Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level - US tax expertise of international tax rules, including foreign tax credits, GILTI, DCLs, subpart F

  • CPA - Experience with data analysis tools such as Advanced Excel, SQL, Tableau, Python - Expertise using AI-driven tools for analysis, modeling
