ABOUT US We're OakNorth, and we embolden entrepreneurs to realise their ambitions, understand their markets, and apply data intelligence to everyday decisions to scale successfully at pace. Banking should be barrier-free — it's a belief at our very core, inspired by our entrepreneurial spirit, driven by the unmet financial needs of millions, and delivered by our data-driven tools.

We go beyond finance to empower our people, encourage professional growth, and create an environment where everyone can thrive. ABOUT THE TEAM The Corporate Finance team sits at the heart of OakNorth's financial operations, covering reporting, planning, and control across our UK and international entities.

The team works closely with FP&A, Treasury, Legal, Operations, and the business to ensure robust financial governance and continuous process improvement. ABOUT THE ROLE We are looking for an experienced Finance Controllership professional to join our Corporate Finance team.

In this role you will own end-to-end accounting and reporting across both internal and external requirements — working under IFRS and Indian GAAP — while leading a broad array of planning projects and process improvement initiatives that directly support OakNorth's growth ambitions.

WHAT YOU'LL DO Own day-to-day accounting, month-end closing, and periodic reporting in accordance with IFRS and Indian GAAP. Manage end-to-end accounting, valuation, and bank reconciliations for complex financial instruments including Investments, Borrowings, Loans, Deposits, and Derivatives (hedging compliance).

Prepare Balance Sheet and P&L items including prepayments, accruals, depreciation runs, intercompany entries, and other month-end journals. Lead Fixed Assets and Intangible accounting, related schedules, and physical verifications; maintain General Ledger, vendor, and bank reconciliations.

Support Statutory and Internal audits, preparing schedules, responding to auditor queries, and drafting internal notes/memos for approvals and audit evidence. Drive process standardisation and automation using data tools and AI-enabled solutions in treasury and accounting workflows; draft and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (FP&A, Operations, Legal, Credit/Portfolio Monitoring, Treasury, and the business) to identify process improvement opportunities and enhance the control environment. Prepare test scenarios and perform testing for system automation projects; assist with ad hoc projects as required.

YOU'LL BE A GREAT FIT IF YOU HAVE… CA (Fresher)/CPA/MBA in Finance with 4–5 years of progressive experience demonstrating strong accounting expertise and advanced financial analytical skills. Strong Microsoft Excel and MS Office skills with a focus on reporting automation; ability to prioritise and manage multiple workflows simultaneously.

Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, with experience working across multiple functions and geographies in a fast-paced organisation. Self-driven, proactive, and results-oriented mindset with a continuous improvement outlook; comfortable operating at scale with a hands-on attitude and big-picture thinking.

Nice to Have Background in the banking or financial services sector. Experience with or interest in data automation tools such as Python/Pandas or VBA for automating reconciliations and reporting processes. WHAT WE OFFER Health & Protection: Comprehensive medical cover for you, your family, and parents, along with life and accidental insurance cover at a multiple of your salary.

Wellbeing: Annual health check-ups, online doctor consultations, pharmacy discounts, nutritionist support, and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services — all sponsored by OakNorth. Time Off: Earned leave, casual/sick leave, public holidays, maternity leave, and paternity leave.

Life Milestones: Financial support for important life events such as marriage, childbirth, and bereavement. Flexible Benefits: Tax-efficient allowances for internet, fuel, meals, leave travel, and National Pension System (NPS) contributions.

Growth & Development: Support for professional certifications, learning and development opportunities, childcare benefits, and paid volunteering days. Our Workplace: Modern, centrally located offices, weekly business updates, team events, and great coffee.

We work hard to build a culture worth showing up for.
