Wealth CIO - Macro Portfolio Strategist - Senior Vice President

Overview The Macro P ortfolio Strategist will play a central role in the Citi Wealth CIO team. This role is focused on delivering differentiated, actionable insights across asset classes, connecting macroeconomic and thematic developments to portfolio construction and client outcomes.

The strategist will be responsible for developing investment views, producing portfolio recommendations, and enhancing the rigor of the team’s allocation, research, and risk management frameworks. The strategist will work closely with the Portfolio Strategy team , the CIO, and partners across research, capital markets, and client coverage.

The role will help shape asset allocation views, sector and thematic positioning, portfolio construction frameworks, and client communications across the Citi Wealth platform. Key Responsibilities Develop high-conviction investment insights across equities, fixed income, alternatives, and multi-asset portfolios, integrating macroeconomic, market, and thematic perspectives.

Translate economic and market research into actionable portfolio implications, including asset allocation tilts, sector positioning, and thematic exposures. Partner with the Head of Portfolio Strategy to refine and implement portfolio construction and risk management processes that drive consistent long-term performance relative to benchmarks.

Produce high-quality thought leadership, presentations, and commentary for internal and external stakeholders. Collaborate with research teams across the firm to leverage global insights, ensuring scalability and consistency of research processes.

Support the development of thematic and tactical portfolio ideas that can be implemented at both institutional and client levels. Contribute to revenue growth through close partnership with the capital markets desk and client-facing teams. Qualifications Approximately 5-10 years of relevant investment experience, including meaningful experience in both fundamental equity research and macroeconomic, market, or cross asset research.

Experience gained within wealth management, asset management, investment research, portfolio management, investment banking, or a comparable institutional investment environment. Demonstrated ability to develop original investment views and translate research into actionable portfolio decisions.

Strong understanding of macroeconomics, corporate fundamentals, valuation, capital markets, market structure, and cross asset relationships. Experience analyzing companies and industries, including earnings drivers, competitive positioning, financial statements, valuation, and catalysts.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to present complex investment ideas clearly and persuasively. Proven ability to collaborate across investment, research, capital markets, product, and client facing teams.

Bachelor degree is required Preferred Characteristics: Intellectual curiosity and a willingness to challenge consensus views through rigorous, evidence-based analysis.
