Job Summary The Senior Director, Strategic Insights & Planning, is responsible for leading a high-impact team that analyzes company business performance, develops executive-level insights, and supports long-range planning and budget processes.

This role leads a team of four analytics and planning professionals responsible for translating complex subscriber, financial, operational, and market performance data into clear narratives, recommendations, and decision-ready materials for executive meetings.

The Senior Director serves as a key partner to executive leadership, Finance, Strategy, Growth, Marketing, Product, Operations, and other cross-functional stakeholders. The role is accountable for ensuring that performance trends, risks, opportunities, and planning assumptions are understood, aligned, and incorporated into business reviews, long-range plans, budget discussions, and strategic decision-making.

Success in this role requires strong analytical judgment, executive storytelling, cross-functional influence, and the ability to lead through ambiguity while developing a high-performing team. Job Description Core Responsibilities: Lead a team of four responsible for business performance analysis, executive reporting, subscriber modeling, long-range planning support, and budget inputs.

Own the performance analytics agenda for executive meetings, including KPI interpretation, performance drivers, risks, opportunities, and recommended actions. Translate complex performance, subscriber, and financial data into concise executive narratives that explain what is happening, why it is happening, and what decisions or actions may be required.

Develop and govern subscriber models that support long-range planning, annual budget development, scenario planning, and business performance tracking. Identify emerging business trends, risks, opportunities, and inflection points early enough to influence executive decisions, resource allocation, and strategic tradeoffs.

Partner with Finance, Strategy, Growth, Marketing, Product, Operations, Business Intelligence, and other stakeholders to align assumptions, reconcile performance signals, and support consistent executive messaging. Lead cross-functional planning discussions to evaluate business drivers, planning assumptions, market dynamics, headwinds, tailwinds, and potential mitigation options.

Build repeatable analytical frameworks, reporting standards, quality controls, and planning processes that improve accuracy, consistency, credibility, and speed of decision support. Prepare and refine materials for senior leadership forums, including weekly growth discussions, monthly or quarterly business reviews, long-range planning meetings, and budget reviews.

Manage, coach, and develop analytics and planning professionals by setting priorities, reviewing outputs, elevating analytical standards, and building team capability. Promote a culture of analytical rigor, collaboration, accountability, intellectual curiosity, continuous improvement, and executive-ready communication.

Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance. Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Generally requires 10+ years of relevant experience in performance analytics, strategy, business intelligence, finance, planning, consulting, or a related field. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; MBA or advanced degree in a quantitative, business, finance, economics, or related discipline preferred.

Demonstrated experience leading teams that support executive-level decision-making, planning, forecasting, performance management, or business strategy. Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure ambiguous problems and synthesize complex data into actionable insights.

Proven ability to develop executive-level narratives and presentations that connect business strategy, performance outcomes, risks, opportunities, and recommendations. Experience with subscriber, customer, financial, operational, or market performance modeling, including scenario planning, long-range planning, and budget support.

Strong business acumen and understanding of performance drivers, planning processes, and the broader industry context in which the business operates. Ability to influence senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders through credibility, collaboration, sound judgment, and data-driven recommendations.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to simplify complex concepts for knowledgeable executive audiences. Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to manage, coach, motivate, and develop high-performing analytics or planning teams.

Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities, compressed timelines, incomplete information, and high executive visibility. Familiarity with enterprise reporting tools, dashboards, data platforms, financial planning tools, SQL, Essbase, or related analytics tools preferred.
