Our values – care, courage and curiosity – guide how we work and how we treat each other. About the role We are looking for a Coordinator Blast to join and support our team in Hope Downs 4. Support the people scheduling and coordinating activities of the Supervisor.
Coordinate daily operational activities ensuring they are aligned to planned Drill and Blast forecasts and budgets. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone ready to step into a leadership position within a supportive and inclusive environment.
Reporting to the Supervisor Blast , you will be working in an inclusive and supportive team, within Mine operations, you will be: Adhere to all Rio Tinto standards, policies and procedures Foster and communicate a positive safety culture while driving continuous improvement through the identification, evaluation and implementation of improvement opportunities, leveraging Rio Tinto best practices to enhance safety awareness, compliance and operational performance.
Oversee the daily operations of loading and firing blast patterns (stemming truck/ MPU/ tie in and fire) Oversee sampling blast hole activities Stock take of magazines and consumables Ensure compliance with blast legislation (such as Dangerous Goods Safety (Explosives) Regulations) Oversee QA/QC for sensitive blasts, taking into consideration heritage, environment and infrastructure Oversee explosives compounds compliance to Explosive Management Plan (EMP) Maintain records of all explosives use on site as per the legislation About you A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team Core technical expertise - experience in blasting operations, Current Shotfirer license Safety leadership and shift coordination people, plan and equipment Ability to operate ancillary equipment preferred Appointed Shot Firer Authorisation DGSC - National Dangerous Goods Security Licence RTIO Drill and Blast Secure Nominee (preferred) A Current Western Australian ‘C’ Class Driver's Licence (Manual) Statutory Position Legal Exam – Statutory Supervisor What we offer Be recognised for your contribution, your thinking and your hard work, and go home knowing you’ve helped the world progress.
