About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Counsel, Senior Assistant Vice President to join the Regulatory Relations, Policy & Control legal team, part of the Chief Operating Office Legal Division. This role will serve as a legal advisor for Regulatory and Policy Affairs within the Chief Operating Office, The Chief Operating Office (COO) is responsible for delivering a consistent approach to business operations across Wells Fargo, strengthening the company’s risk and control infrastructure, and delivering effective and efficient enterprise services to employees and customers

In This Role, You Will

  • Serve as a legal advisor to the Regulatory Relations function, including support for the Confidential Supervisory Information program and relevant governance documents Provide guidance to stakeholders related to regulatory interaction best practices Research and analyze existing and proposed laws, regulations
  • guidance related to the Company’s federal supervisory agencies and support advocacy on areas of importance to Wells Fargo Collaborate within the department and across business and staff functions to address legal and risk issues in a manner consistent with the best interests of Wells Fargo Proactively identify policy, legal
  • regulatory matters pertaining to area of expertise
  • evaluate the legal risk to and impact on the Company Apply cross-disciplinary or specialty expertise proactively to manage complex legal and regulatory issues Lead initiatives of varying scope and complexity Independently resolve moderately complex issues and lead teams to meet deliverables Required Qualifications: 4+ years of Law experience
  • equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education Active State Bar membership or the equivalent in a country outside the United States Desired Qualifications: 3+ years of practicing as an attorney with a major law firm, financial services regulatory agency or self-regulatory organization
  • in-house law department Experience with U.S. financial regulatory frameworks, including interpretation of Confidential Supervisory Information regulations and regulatory interaction Ability to work effectively in a complex environment with a high degree of collaboration including business partnerships and across all levels of team members Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work while handling multiple concurrent matters Strong organizational, project management

  • interpersonal communication skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Job Expectations: Ability to work a hybrid schedule, in office at least 3 days a week This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship Relocation assistance is not available for this position Pay Range Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position.
  • Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location.
