FRS External Reporting Director
We're seeking someone to join our team as an FRS External Reporting Director in ISG Finance to provide end-to-end reporting coverage for Secured Funding activity within FRS (Firm Funding, Derivative Funding, Securities Lending, and Client Financing).
The role partners closely with Finance Product Control teams to deliver accurate financial and regulatory reporting, including quarterly and annual filings (10-Q/10-K, FRY9C, Article 9, BEAT), along with other regulatory disclosures as applicable.
The successful candidate will also support process and control enhancements and help drive timely, high-quality reporting deliverables.. In the Finance division, we act as a partner to business units around the globe by providing management, review, analysis and advisory services of the Firm's financial and capital resources.
This is an Associate level position within the Product Controller Job Family which specializes in ensuring adequacy of controls, profit and loss and balance sheet reporting and reconciliations for a segment / business / product area, as well as management reporting across business segments or cross functional end-to-end product oversight.

What you'll do in the role: - Collaborate with a varied group of colleagues in Finance and across the Firm - Responsible for and lead a significant set of deliverables, leveraging advanced understanding of Finance functional area, product and/or client segment - Proactively identify emerging risks in individual and department work and contribute to strategies for mitigating them - Act as a role model and culture carrier; Embody and set an example of the Firm's values and hold yourself and others accountable to Firm standards - Assist with and review daily and weekly financial reporting, including balance sheet, interest, and trading P&L. > Review monthly financials and disclosure reporting, including balance sheet, interest, and trading P&L analysis and commentary. - Support quarterly disclosures for 10-Q/10-K and Federal Reserve reporting. - Coordinate and facilitate special projects and ad hoc requests. - Collaborate with partners across FCG, including Global Product Controllers, Accounting Policy, Regulatory Reporting, and SEC Reporting. - Assist in expense allocation and reporting. - Contribute to Funds Transfer Pricing allocation analysis for IED and FID.
What you'll bring to the role: - Advanced understanding of Finance functional area, product and/or client segment and technical skills, as well as of industry and competitive environment - Ability to provide positive and constructive - feedback and acknowledge efforts of team members - Ability to articulate risk and impact to various audiences, and create plans to mitigate those risks - Advanced Excel skills required; proficiency with Microsoft Office and data/analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx) preferred. - Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills. - Efficient, motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. - Team-oriented with strong communication, organizational, and time management skills. - Proactive mindset; seeks opportunities to improve processes and controls. - Ability to work under deadline pressure. - At least 6 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role.

However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
