Who We Are Looking For We are looking for a Blockchain Security Architect . You will be responsible for assessing, designing, and governing security architectures for blockchain platforms, smart contract solutions, digital asset technologies, tokenization platforms, and distributed ledger ecosystems.
You will partner with application development, cloud engineering, cybersecurity, digital asset, and business teams to ensure blockchain solutions are designed and deployed in accordance with enterprise security standards and industry best practices.
Why This Role Is Important To Us The team you will be joining is part of the Security Architecture organization, a function that is critical to protecting the firm's applications, data, cloud platforms, and emerging technology initiatives. As blockchain and digital asset technologies continue to evolve, this role is responsible for ensuring secure adoption of distributed ledger technologies while managing cyber, operational, and third-party risks associated with decentralized architectures.
What You Will Be Responsible For As a Blockchain Security Architect , you will: Perform security architecture reviews for blockchain, distributed ledger, tokenization, and digital asset initiatives. Assess blockchain platforms, smart contracts, decentralized applications, and supporting infrastructure for security risks and design weaknesses.
Partner with engineering, cloud, application, and cybersecurity teams to develop secure blockchain architecture patterns and security controls. Conduct threat modeling and security assessments for blockchain platforms, smart contracts, digital asset custody solutions, and supporting services.
Define security requirements for cryptographic key management, wallet security, node security, consensus mechanisms, and cross-chain integrations. Evaluate third-party blockchain platforms, vendors, and service providers from a security and risk management perspective.
Provide subject matter expertise on blockchain security threats, attack vectors, and emerging industry security practices. What We Value These skills will help you succeed in this role: Strong understanding of blockchain architectures, distributed ledger technologies, cryptographic principles, and digital asset ecosystems.
Experience assessing the security of smart contracts, blockchain platforms, APIs, and decentralized applications. Knowledge of application security, cloud security, threat modeling, and secure software development practices. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences. Education & Preferred Qualifications Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline. 10 or more years of experience in cybersecurity, application security, cloud security, software engineering, blockchain technologies, or related technology disciplines.
Demonstrated experience assessing or securing blockchain platforms, smart contracts, distributed ledger technologies, or digital asset solutions. Strong understanding of cryptography, PKI, encryption, digital signatures, key management, and secure communication protocols.
Experience with blockchain platforms such as Ethereum, Hyperledger Fabric, Corda, Canton, Quorum, Polygon, Solana, or similar technologies. Knowledge of smart contract security considerations and common blockchain attack vectors. Experience conducting threat modeling, security architecture reviews, or risk assessments for distributed systems and cloud-native applications.
Understanding of cloud-native architectures, APIs, containers, Kubernetes, and modern application development practices. Professional certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, Certified Blockchain Security Professional (CBSP), Certified Blockchain Architect, AWS Security Specialty, or equivalent certifications are highly desirable.
Experience within financial services, digital assets, tokenization, payments, or other highly regulated industries is preferred. Additional Requirements Interest in emerging technologies including digital assets, tokenization, smart contracts, decentralized finance (DeFi), and distributed ledger platforms.
Ability to work effectively with engineering, architecture, cybersecurity, risk, and business teams in a global environment. Limited travel may be required based on business needs. Work Requirement Hybrid: Expected to work in accordance with State Street's hybrid work model.
