This role is primarily responsible for developing and maintaining tools that support pricing, while also serving as a subject matter expert and assumption owner for Medicare Part D. The development aspect of the role includes using SQL for data engineering, Python for data science, and statistical methods to build, enhance, and maintain pricing tools and analytical processes.
The individual will also support Aetna’s Medicare Part D pricing as a subject matter expert and assumption owner, develop familiarity with the bid cycle and actuarial concepts, and contribute strong technical, analytical, and communication skills in a rapidly evolving environment.
The colleague will: Develop and maintain tools and processes that support pricing, including data pipelines, analytical workflows, and model inputs Use SQL for data engineering and Python for data science to transform data, perform analyses, and deliver scalable pricing solutions Apply statistical knowledge and actuarial concepts to support pricing analyses, assumption development, and business decision-making Serve as a subject matter expert and assumption owner for Medicare Part D pricing, supporting the bid cycle and related forecasting activities Build familiarity with end-to-end pricing processes, including ETL and ELT concepts, and support data preparation and validation efforts Use Excel, VBA, Power Query, and Power BI to develop, enhance, and communicate pricing analyses and reporting Demonstrate a strong willingness to learn new technologies and comfort using artificial intelligence tools, including Claude Code and in-line LLMs, to improve workflows and productivity Collaborate effectively with business partners and technical teams, balancing competing priorities while communicating clearly and professionally Required Qualifications Prior healthcare experience required At least 2 SOA exams passed Experience supporting pricing, actuarial analysis, or related analytical functions Experience with SQL for data engineering and Python for data science, including working with large, complex datasets Advanced Excel skills required, including VBA Strong communication skills Solid technical and analytical skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn new technologies Comfort working with artificial intelligence tools Ability to thrive in a constantly evolving environment with competing priorities and deadlines Preferred Qualifications GitHub knowledge preferred Visual Studio Code experience preferred ASA or near-ASA (Associate of the Society of Actuaries) Knowledge of ETL and ELT processes Power Query and Power BI experience Experience with Claude Code Education Bachelor’s degree, along with 2+ years of related experience Anticipated Weekly Hours 40 Time Type Full time Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is: $72,100.00 - $144,200.00 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.
The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
