As a Software Engineer, you will design, develop, test, and maintain innovative software solutions that power critical business processes and insights across Finance, Sales, Marketing, Business Operations, and Product Engineering. You will work alongside experienced engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to build reliable, scalable, and intelligent applications that drive business impact.

Responsibilities As a Software Engineer at Microsoft, you’ll be part of a team of talented engineers leveraging Microsoft Cloud and AI technologies to deliver modern, scalable, and intelligent systems that help drive Microsoft's business forward.

Design, develop, deploy, and support scalable cloud-based data, analytics, automation, and tooling solutions using modern data platforms and cloud services.
Integrate AI capabilities, such as Azure OpenAI, Cognitive Services, and machine learning models, to enhance system intelligence and improve user experiences and productivity. Apply software engineering best practices to design and deliver high-quality, scalable solutions.
Contribute throughout the solution lifecycle, from design and implementation to operations and continuous improvement. Build and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting capabilities to enable proactive issue detection. Use telemetry and usage insights to better understand customer needs and help inform product decisions.
Partner with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders across teams to deliver integrated, customer-focused solutions. Contribute ideas, technical insights, and innovation that help evolve Microsoft's data platforms and engineering practices.

Qualifications Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
Core Software Development C# / .NET Core: Building back-end services, Azure Functions, and enterprise APIs. TypeScript / JavaScript: Developing front-end applications, SharePoint Framework (SPFx) solutions, Microsoft Teams experiences, and custom Power Apps components.
DAX: Creating Power BI measures, calculations, and data models. T-SQL: Querying, transforming, and analyzing data from Azure SQL, Synapse, or Microsoft Fabric Warehouse. HTML/CSS: Developing responsive and accessible user interfaces. Data Engineering and Analytics Power Query (M Language): Transforming and preparing data in Power BI, Microsoft Fabric Dataflows, and related technologies.
Microsoft Fabric Data Pipelines: Supporting data ingestion and transformation from common data sources such as Dataverse, SharePoint, Azure SQL, and REST APIs. Python: Data preparation, automation, or lightweight extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes using Fabric Notebooks, Azure Functions, or similar tools.
Synapse Serverless SQL: Creating and maintaining views and data transformations. Data Modeling: Understanding dimensional modeling concepts, including star and snowflake schemas and semantic models. Azure Storage: Working with Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 and other cloud-based storage solutions.
Effective communication skills in English, including the ability to collaborate with diverse audiences through written and verbal communication. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Familiarity with artificial intelligence, machine learning, generative AI technologies, or data analytics solutions. Understanding of source control systems, such as Git, and modern software engineering and DevOps practices. Experience with Power Automate, Azure Logic Apps, or similar workflow automation technologies.
Experience developing or consuming APIs to integrate data and services across platforms. Demonstrated curiosity, a growth mindset, and a collaborative approach to solving customer and business challenges. Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives in an inclusive team environment.
