The primary function of the Renewable Energy Tax Accounting Advisor is to manage Cigna’s tax equity transactions. This position is responsible for identifying potential targets, financial modelling and deal structure, leading due diligence efforts, and coordinating third-party consultants.

This role is involved with projects during their entire lifecycle, beginning at an early stage of investment and continuing through project completion and funding. The Renewable Energy Tax Accounting Advisor will have high visibility within Cigna, and will gain exposure to the technical, legal, commercial, and financial aspects of renewable energy projects.

Responsibilities include: Identify and evaluate potential equity investments to secure federal investment tax credits Direct management and external advisors as part of a deal team during the due diligence process including potential site visits Prepare and review financial models Interface with developers and syndicators to build an inventory of potential projects Coordinate with third parties to obtain deliverables required for transactions, including gathering the information needed from internal departments and determining and tracking deadlines for deliverables

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, coursework in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics or related discipline preferred. 5+ years’ experience in renewable energy financing or development, investment banking
  • project finance or related education.
  • Knowledge of renewable energy projects or tax equity.
  • Experience with financial modeling.
