A Manufacturing Engineer in this role will be supporting the technician team by resolving any obstacles and working with responsible engineers to disposition non-conformances. This individual will work closely with engineering teams in specifying and building or procuring tools and line equipment for Leo hardware builds. The successful candidate has some basic experience in supporting production of space hardware through development, QTP (qualification test procedures)
- flight hardware ATP (acceptance test procedures). Key job responsibilities Shift: Sunday-Wednesday 4:00PM - 2:30AM - Write work instructions, troubleshoot non-conformances and help execute critical satellite assembly build and test campaigns, including hands-on work. - Definition & implementation of Work Order and standard operating procedures - Specify, design and help procure various assembly equipment, tools and systems to meet program development requirements takt time & cost optimization planning - Review designs for manufacturability and sign off for design release - Must be willing to work off shifts and weekends as required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Manufacturing/Mechanical/Aerospace/Industrial/Electrical) or related discipline
- equivalent experience. - 1+ year experience with integrating, testing and troubleshooting mechanical and electronic systems - 1+ year experience with Computer Aided Design tools such as Solidworks or NX/Unigraphics
- Related experience from internships or college organizations- Technical writing experience, including work instructions, standard operating procedures and/or test plans. - Experienced with various automated manufacturing processes, including assembly and test methods at component level, subsystem
- system level. - Experienced with handling and tracking systems for continuous material flow to manufacturing lines. - Familiar with QTP/ATP, functional testing, and/or environmental testing such as thermal, acoustic
- vibe. - Experience supporting both Development and Production programs - Formal training/certification in Operational Excellence Systems (Lean, 5S, Six Sigma, etc.) a plus. - Strong organizational, analytical, root cause analysis and problem solving skills. - Excellent communication and leadership skills.
