Compliance Officer
- Amazon’s Transportation Risk & Compliance (TRC) team identifies and mitigates risk in a rapidly growing and complex, global environment. To support the business, our primary mission is to perform independent and objective, risk-based assessments of Amazon business partners’ activities and related controls with the goal of improving operations, compliance, risk management
- overall success of the program. We provide Audit & Monitoring (A&M) support of high-risk transportation risk topics to drive compliance across the transportation programs and influence business controls. We are seeking an experienced professional in audit, risk, controls, governance and program management, to join our Australia (AU) TRC Last Mile (LM) Field Operations (FO) team, to lead and execute Audit & Monitoring (A&M) across AU LM transportation programs. In this role, you will work closely with Amazon's AU LM transportation businesses to plan, scope
- execute audits to verify carrier partners are meeting legal and contractual obligations relating to business practices, driver / provider eligibility
- safety standards. You will be expected to apply risk and control concepts to new and existing business models, clearly and concisely communicate identified findings to carrier partners
- internally report audit results in a timely and effective manner. You will provide carriers with consultative support to identify opportunities for improvement, develop corrective action plans to address audit defects
- manage those remediation plans to closure. You will also work collaboratively with the operations, business, safety, legal, public policy, finance
- tech teams to implement world-class, customer-centric, compliance and risk management solutions. To bring in best practices and learning, you’ll also work with and learn from colleagues globally. This is a small but growing team, meaning you'll play an instrumental role in developing the function, defining and developing the value that we offer to our business partners

- you will have an opportunity to learn about a range of disciplines, such as employment law, safety, driver licensing, etc, in addition to performing periodic site visits.
- Manage and oversee end-to-end execution A&M programs to determine if third-party transportation partners are compliant with contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with Global Quality team to ensure alignment to global audit quality standards and metrics
- Manage A&M findings, ensuring closure, or enforcement actions if they are not closed on time.
- Collate and provide regular reporting of A&M metrics for local and global reporting
- Perform deep dives of processes to identify risks, controls, and gaps, and use that information to influence business
- Independently manage the yearly audit plan, and own the end-to-end audit lifecycle
- Define A&M program scope and tests for new LM programs engaging with key stakeholders including business, operations, legal, public policy, and other compliance teams.
- Manage relationships with cross functional stakeholders internal and external to Amazon
- Scale audits through automation and AI.
- Advise the business on risk and compliance issues for new transportation initiatives, processes, risks and controls and building solutions despite ambiguity.

- tech teams to develop gap remediation strategies and the build-out of sustainable and systematic solutions. The individual will work effectively in a team environment and, as individual contributors, be able to work remotely and effectively review the work of other remote team members. About the team Transportation Risk and Compliance (TRC) is the voice of risk and compliance for Amazon’s transportation businesses across 24+ countries. - Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) - 3+ years of experience in auditing, risk management, compliance, program management
- quality management systems - 3+ years of program or project management experience - Experience establishing successful partnerships with internal and external teams to execute tactical initiatives or equivalent - Experience of interacting regularly and directly with senior executives. - Ability to independently manage a project and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations - Ability to turn complex compliance requirements into scalable processes
- Professional auditing qualification
- similar risk or compliance credentials - Experience with SQL and Excel - Knowledge of retail food code and regulations governing grocery retail at local, state
- federal levels - Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients
- experience in tax, finance or a related analytical field - Knowledge of payroll and the modern awards system
- third-party risk management - Experience working in the operations, transportation
- logistics sectors.
