Overview Join a team that clears the path for you to thrive. As a Principal Technical Program Manager on the Datacenter End-to-End Build Delivery team, you will help drive the most ambitious infrastructure programs of their kind, from vision to live operations.
Data Center End-to-End Build Delivery is the group that runs the end-to-end program management of building and delivering Microsoft datacenters — taking a datacenter from design and approval through construction, fit-out, commissioning, and handoff to operations.
As a Technical Program Manager, you own the schedules, cross-functional delivery, and execution risk for these capital build programs. This is the get the datacenter built and online function inside Cloud Operations and Innovation — the same organization your work supports.
Your work will be critical to Microsoft's strategy as you help deliver the largest data center in the world to date in Pecos, Texas. You will play a significant role in increasing our ability to deliver on customer capacity in the cloud, supporting transformative workloads like artificial intelligence across the globe.

Responsibilities Define program goals and prioritization for capital build delivery, translating business needs and technical requirements into actionable plans and risk mitigation strategies across multiple cross-functional partners.
Track, coordinate, and communicate end-to-end project and delivery schedules, driving accountability and process improvements to ensure datacenter builds are completed on time and within scope. Partner with engineering, design, construction, and operations teams to lead root-cause analysis and drive continuous improvement in supportability, efficiency, and live-site incident management.
Analyze use-case outcomes against business goals and performance targets, championing quality and leveraging advanced automation to optimize project delivery and operational performance. Collaborate on architecture and integrated customer solutions, ensuring future proof designs and leading the review of documentation and technical proposals.
Qualifications Required/Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience. 3+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
Background Check Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Construction Management AND 15+ years experience in planning, project management, and execution across large-scale complex organizations OR equivalent experience. 5+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
Demonstrates deep subject matter expertise on key functional areas of engineering, procurement, construction, mechanical, electrical, networking, and building automation systems. Comfortable working at the Executive level within a highly matrixed organization.
Experience driving execution with large complex infrastructure projects. Technical program management experience managing scope, schedule, budget, contracts, quality, people, risk, and communications. Demonstrated leadership skills and experience working with large and diverse teams.

There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
