Job Title Sustainability Professional Job Description Please submit your CV in English The Sustainability Professional is responsible for the implementation of sustainability strategies focused on reducing environmental and social impact, aligning them with organizational goals, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations through regular audits and assessments while working under limited supervision and broad guidelines.

The role monitors and analyzes key sustainability indicators, conducts research and assists in evaluation of emerging technologies, and supports the integration of sustainable practices into daily operations, product design, and manufacturing processes by collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The role reviews the data collected for sustainability metrics, assists the preparation of sustainability related submissions, cultivates effective relationships with external stakeholders and may also manage and develop employees to achieve organizational goals.

Your role: Implements sustainability strategies and initiatives focused on reducing environmental and social impact and enhancing operational efficacies, aligning them with organization's goals and objectives while working under limited supervision and broad guidelines.

Ensures compliance with all relevant environmental regulations by staying up to date on environmental regulations and by conducting regular environmental audits and assessments to identify risks and implement corrective actions to mitigate potential non-compliance issues.

Provides support in reviewing and revising sustainability policies and proposals to ensure they reflect current industry standards and best practices by benchmarking against industry leaders and aligning with international sustainability standards or Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) guidelines.

Collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainable practices into daily operations by analyzing current processes, identifying opportunities for reducing waste, conserving energy, and optimizing resource use, and ensuring that these initiatives support the organization's broader strategic goal.

Collaborates with product development team to integrate sustainable practices into product design including conducting lifecycle assessments (LCAs) to evaluate the environmental impact of products, recommending sustainable materials, and supporting the adoption of circular economy principles such as designing for disassembly, recycling, or reusability.

Reviews the data collected for sustainability metrics, supporting transparency and accountability in corporate reporting and assists the preparation of submissions for sustainability reports, rankings, certifications, and disclosures including Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) disclosures.

Cultivates effective relationships with external stakeholders, including suppliers, regulatory bodies, and community organizations, to promote and advance the organization's sustainability efforts. May manage and develop employees to achieve organizational goals and ensuring compliance with industry regulations, all while fostering a culture of impact with care.

You’re the right fit if: Master's Degree in Sustainability Engineering, Environmental Science, Engineering or equivalent. Minimum 4 years of experience in areas such as Sustainability, Environmental Management, Corporate Social Responsibility or equivalent.

Experience leading sustainability transformation initiatives or sustainability governance programs across multiple business functions. Experience with sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g. CSRD, EPR, PPWR). Experience with Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodologies.

Experience with developing AI-agents. Certified Sustainability Professional or comparable certification preferred. Strong networking and influencing skills, as well as project management skills. Fluency in English, fluent in German is desired.

Compensation & Benefits Doing meaningful work should come with fair, transparent rewards. The base salary range for this role is €93.050,83–€124.067,77. We determine pay within the range using objective factors, like the skills the role requires, your relevant experience and the responsibility you'll have in this role, alongside internal equity and local market considerations.

This role is eligible for a 5% annual incentive, with your rewards linked to your individual and the company performance.
