Sr Mgr, Health Economic & Reimbursement This role represents an opportunity to join the Global Health Economics & Reimbursement (GHER) team supporting patient access to innovative transcatheter mitral and tricuspid valve technologies (TMTT) at Edwards Lifesciences.
Position Summary: The Senior Manager, Portfolio Value & Market Access is a critical position on the Global Health Economics and Reimbursement (GHER) Team for the Transcatheter Mitral and Tricuspid Therapies (TMTT) business unit. This Senior Manager is responsible for shaping and advancing the economic value strategy for Edwards’ TMTT portfolio.
This role leads the development and execution of scalable value initiatives—spanning value frameworks and tools—that support customer economic decision-making and strengthen market access. The position serves as a senior subject matter expert, translating complex economic concepts into practical, compliant materials and guidance for internal and customer-facing teams.
Success requires strong cross-functional leadership, market insight, and the ability to integrate economic value efforts into broader commercial and clinical programs. The position reports to the Senior Director, Portfolio Value & Market Access for TMTT GHER.
The preference is for the Senior Manager to be based in Irvine. How you will make an impact: Lead the portfolio economic value strategy for TMTT, ensuring alignment with Edwards’ market access priorities, business objectives, launch planning, adoption readiness, and customer engagement needs.
Develop evidence-based value narratives, frameworks, tools, and customer-facing resources that translate clinical, economic, operational, reimbursement, and patient burden insights into clear, practical materials for hospital executives, cardiovascular service line leaders, administrators, and field teams.
Serve as a senior subject matter expert on portfolio value economics, providing strategic guidance on value framing, economic objections, access barriers, and opportunities to support adoption of TMTT therapies. Leverage hospital analytics, procedure economics, claims data, customer segmentation insights, reimbursement dynamics, payer expectations, health policy trends, and customer feedback to refine economic messaging over time.
Partner cross-functionally with U.S. and Portfolio Marketing, U.S. Field Market Access, US Reimbursement and Policy, Sales, and other internal teams to integrate economic value initiatives into broader commercial and market access programs.
Identify economic evidence gaps, customer evidence needs, and opportunities to strengthen value propositions; provide input into evidence generation priorities across the TMTT portfolio. Establish metrics to assess adoption, effectiveness, and business impact of portfolio value tools, customer programs, and economic messaging.
What you will need (required): Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent in life science, health economics, health policy, or related field, 10 years experience of related experience or equivalent work experience based on Edwards criteria Required or Master's Degree or equivalent in MBA or MPH, 8 years experience of related experience or equivalent work experience based on Edwards criteria Preferred Experience working with customers (primarily hospitals and physicians), trade associations, professional and medical organizations and ability to develop mutually beneficial health economics and reimbursement strategies and tactics to support portfolio planning, commercialization, and sales/marketing objectives or equivalent work experience based on Edwards criteria Required Experience in health economics and/or outcomes research and reimbursement or equivalent work experience based on Edwards criteria Required Other: Certification in related discipline Required What else we look for (preferred): Demonstrated ability to translate complex economic, clinical, and operational concepts into clear, actionable materials for internal and external stakeholders.
Strong project management, analytical, communication, and presentation development skills. Experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Clinical, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Legal, Compliance, Finance, Government Affairs, or related teams.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, and Word, with the ability to develop executive-ready presentations, analytical summaries, value tools, and customer-facing materials. Strong business, technical, and scientific writing skills, with demonstrated ability to synthesize complex clinical, economic, reimbursement, and operational information into clear, concise, compliant, and audience-appropriate content.
Ability to create polished, visually clear, and logically structured deliverables for senior leaders, cross-functional partners, field teams, and external healthcare stakeholders. Advanced degree, such as an MBA, MPH, MHA, or related graduate degree, and a minimum of 8 years of experience in medical device, structural heart, cardiovascular service line economics, hospital finance, reimbursement, or health technology adoption.
Experience developing value frameworks, economic tools, customer-facing resources, dashboards, or evidence-based value narratives. Familiarity with claims data, real-world evidence, hospital analytics, procedural economics, or market access evidence generation.
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed environment and influence without direct authority. Experience using data visualization, dashboarding, or analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Excel-based models, or similar platforms to communicate economic insights and business implications.
Experience developing customer-facing resources, value messaging, training materials, slide decks, executive summaries, white papers, or evidence-based communication tools in a regulated healthcare or medical device environment. Familiarity with claims, hospital financial, procedural economics, real-world evidence, or market access datasets, and ability to translate quantitative outputs into practical business and customer insights.
Experience using collaborative work management or documentation platforms such as SharePoint, Teams, Smartsheet, or similar tools to manage deliverables, approvals, version control, and cross-functional input. For California (CA), the base pay range for this position is $145,000 to $205,000 (highly experienced). The pay for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience).
