State Street Investment Management is seeking a Vice President, Market Data Analytics, Transparency & Cost Optimization to strengthen market data transparency, commercial governance, analytics, and expense discipline across the global market data ecosystem.

The role requires strong market data domain expertise, including an understanding of vendors, products, contracts, usage, onboarding, renewals, entitlement and consumption drivers, and expense levers. The successful candidate will convert complex operational and financial data into clear business insight, executive-ready reporting, and measurable optimization outcomes.

This is a highly entrepreneurial, hands-on role suited to a self-starter who can build capability from the ground up, influence across a complex global matrix, and drive change through strong relationship management, crisp communication, and disciplined execution.

What you will be responsible for Own the market data transparency agenda across spend, vendors, products, contracts, onboarding, renewals, demand, and consumption. Develop executive dashboards, KPI scorecards, quarterly business updates, vendor insights, trend analysis, and management reporting that support senior decision-making.

Create and maintain a single source of truth for market data reporting and management information, translating complex operational and financial data into concise, actionable recommendations. Identify, quantify, prioritize, and drive expense management initiatives across index, non-index, reference data, terminals, research, ESG data, and other market data categories.

Partner with Finance, Procurement, business stakeholders, Technology, and vendors to monitor spend, challenge demand, track benefits realization, and drive sustainable optimization outcomes. Establish KPIs and governance reporting across demand management, onboarding, renewals, vendor performance, productivity, operational effectiveness, and cost optimization.

Lead implementation and ongoing enhancement of BI and reporting capabilities, including reporting requirements, data models, dashboard strategy, and scalable reporting infrastructure. Provide visibility into onboarding pipelines, approval workflows, demand trends, vendor requests, and operational bottlenecks to support future gatekeeping and governance capabilities.

Build and manage strong relationships with Market Data Leadership, Finance, Procurement, Technology, Investment Teams, and external vendors. Drive adoption of new governance, reporting, transparency, and expense management practices across a large, global, highly matrixed operating environment.

Operate as a hands-on player-coach, balancing direct delivery with leadership of an emerging analytics, reporting, and governance capability. These skills will help you succeed in this role Demonstrated experience in market data, vendor management, business management, finance analytics, procurement partnering, consulting, or financial services.

Proven ability to identify, structure, and drive expense, optimization, governance, or transformation initiatives from analysis through execution and benefits realization. Experience developing executive dashboards, KPI frameworks, performance reporting, management information, and decision-focused business insights.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to work across complex operational, vendor, contract, spend, demand, and consumption data. Strong proficiency with BI and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, reporting platforms, and related data analytics capabilities.

Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, influence senior stakeholders, challenge assumptions constructively, and build alignment across diverse teams. Advanced written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create concise executive updates, governance materials, operating reviews, and stakeholder communications.

Comfort operating in ambiguity, building new capabilities, establishing repeatable processes, and designing scalable operating models. Education & Preferred Qualifications 12 plus years of relevant experience in market data, vendor management, business intelligence, finance analytics, business management, operations, consulting, or financial services.

Market data domain expertise is required; asset management or broader financial services experience is strongly preferred. Experience with market data vendors, licensing models, contracts, spend drivers, governance practices, and expense optimization is strongly preferred, including the use of market data inventory and financial management platforms (e.g., TRG/FITS).

Undergraduate degree required; advanced degree, finance, data analytics, business, or technology-related qualification a plus. Strong Microsoft Office skills required; advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and BI/reporting capabilities preferred. Experience building functions, processes, reporting disciplines, governance routines, or operating capabilities from the ground up is highly valued.
