Job Description This job is responsible for investigating moderately complex, unrepresented claims which may include: uninsured or underinsured motorist (UM/UIM) claims involving physical property damage and/or bodily injury in single or multi car accidents, Injury Casualty Soft Tissue (ICST), and unrepresented moderate claims.

The individual also may handle moderately complex, non-represented CPL claims. The individual takes recorded statements, resolves loss of use claims, makes payments to appropriate parties, and negotiates and settles or refers bodily injury issues that cannot be resolved.

Job Description

Our team is growing, and we are actively looking to hire a Senior Claim Advisor, Accident Benefits Floater Developmental Opportunity to join our Ontario team! Reporting to the Manager Casualty Claims Complex AB, you will be accountable for handling both MIG & complex first party injury claims, on a rotational basis, providing claim handling for Accident Benefits Claim Advisors, who are in need of support.

Role Designation: Remote (Alberta, Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia or New Brunswick with Ontario region Accident Benefits experience) Accountabilities: Take ownership for the activity required on pending claims of Accident Benefit Claim Advisors, by working the existing pending claim files.

Interpret insurance policy wording, determine policy coverages and set reserves on Accident Benefit claims. Investigate, negotiate and settle accident benefits claims with moderate to high complexity by telephone and/ or by written correspondence.

Comply with best practices as set out in Allstate policies and procedures. Adhere to legislative and regulatory requirements. Ensure files are thoroughly documented. Settlement of claims within personal authority and follow company guidelines on claims exceeding personal authority.

Set and define customer service expectations. Take ownership and accountability to solve customer problems. Communicate and interact with claimants, vendors, medical professionals, lawyers in a professional manner. Work collaboratively with multiple teams of Accident Benefit Adjusters and Claims Assistants Qualifications: A minimum of 2-4 years relevant Ontario Accident Benefits experience outside the MIG.

File quality results have been ‘On Track’ or greater in the last year. The Skills Matrix is indicative of proficiency in handling complex injury claims and the application of the Ontario Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule. Strong time management and organizational skills as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Strong critical thinking skills to identify strengths and weaknesses of claims. Strong written and verbal communication skills with a commitment to providing outstanding customer service. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
