About the Role Tonal is looking for a motivated and dependable Studio Technician to support our multi-camera live and live-to-tape studio production workflows. In this role, you will act as first-level support for technical issues on the stage floor with the Technical Studio Operations Manager and Technical Director to help efficiently execute and stay on our production schedule.

You’ll work with our NYC-based video production team to create engaging fitness content for our members, contributing to a collaborative and fast-paced studio environment. What You Will Do Be on site every day to act as first-level tech support for technical issues in the studio.

Assist with basic maintenance and organization of studio equipment, including cameras, lighting, audio gear, and comms systems Keep studio spaces, equipment, and cable runs organized and production-ready Provide hands-on support with running and managing cables (video, audio, power) as needed Assist the technical team with updating documentation and tracking equipment or workflow changes Troubleshoot basic technical or equipment issues and escalate more complex problems to senior team members Communicate between Directors, Producers and Production Assistants to ensure all Video Village needs are met Show strong initiative and a keen interest in learning and operating the studio lighting board to assist in lighting adjustments and looks Take on general technical production support tasks as needed to help keep shoots running smoothly Be the point of contact for all specialty shoot gear/rental load-ins and setup (Including: photoshoots, promo shoots and floor/set maintenance/cleanings) Work closely with the internal IT team as needed Who You Are 2–3+ years of experience in a production environment (studio, live events, or similar), or relevant training/education Organized and detail-oriented, with a strong willingness to learn and take direction Technical thinker who is calm and reliable under pressure Comfortable working both independently on assigned tasks and collaboratively with a team and multiple cross-functional partners Basic familiarity with studio production equipment such as cameras, lighting, and audio gear Interest in learning more about broadcast systems, technical production workflows, and technical solutions Able to lift and move equipment (up to 50 lbs), climb ladders, and work on your feet for extended periods Willing to take on a variety of tasks to support the team and production needs At Tonal, we believe that the unique and varied lived experiences of our teammates contribute to our overall strength.
