Position Summary The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Manager supports Mercy Care’s financial performance through detailed reporting, variance analysis, and strategic insight and is responsible for driving financial performance through planning, reporting, and strategic analysis.
This role partners with business and finance leadership to provide insights into financial results, support budgeting and forecasting processes, managing and reporting Scorable Action Items (SAI), and identify risks and opportunities that impact organizational performance.
The FP&A Manager oversees financial reporting activities, leads variance analysis, and ensures accurate and timely delivery of financial information. They play a key role in month-end close support, financial modeling, and ad hoc analysis, while also contributing to process improvements that enhance efficiency, control, and data quality.
Additionally, the FP&A Manager serves as a strategic advisor to leadership by translating financial data into actionable insights, supporting decision-making, and aligning financial outcomes with business objectives. Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Analysis Prepare and deliver monthly financial reporting packages.
Perform detailed variance analysis for indirect SG&A expenses. Provide insights into key drivers of financial performance. Develop dashboards and reporting tools to enhance visibility. Financial Planning & Forecasting Participate in annual Budget and quarterly forecasts process.
Partner with business leaders to develop assumptions and financial plans. Monitor financial performance against budget and forecast expectations. Identify trends, risks, and opportunities impacting financial results. Business Partnering Support decision-making through financial modeling and scenario analysis.
Collaborate cross-functionally to understand business drivers and operational impacts. Present financial results and insights to leadership. SAI (Scorable Action Item) Oversight & Analytics Manage and continuously enhance the SAI tracking process, ensuring accurate and timely updates of all incoming activity on a monthly basis.
Partner with business leads and executive sponsors to coordinate SAI identification, prioritization, and resolution efforts. Lead SAI trend analysis and reporting, including the preparation of monthly summaries highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities.
Identify and evaluate emerging or evolving SAI categories to proactively address potential financial and operational impacts. Support the development and ongoing optimization of SAI tracking tools, including enhancements to existing QuickBase solutions and advanced platforms such as Power BI.
Leverage SAI insights to inform leadership discussions, support financial forecasting, and improve decision-making processes. Ad Hoc Analysis & Special Projects Perform financial analysis to support strategic initiatives. Support contracts, vendor analysis, or cost optimization efforts.
Provide insights on emerging financial issues or business questions. Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience in FP&A, financial reporting, or healthcare finance. Preferred Qualifications Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience with financial systems and reporting tools (e.g., AIS, Infoview, Concur).
Working knowledge or willingness to learn SQL and data tools (e.g., Power BI, QuickBase). Education Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required or equivalent years of related experience. Anticipated Weekly Hours 40 Time Type Full time Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is: $54,300.00 - $132,600.00 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.
The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
