Senior Analyst
We are looking for an Invoicing & Trade Finance Senior Analyst to perform the Contract to Cash (CTC) activities and to oversee the end‑to‑end Letter of Credit and trade finance documentation cycle, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely support for global shipments and cashflow.
The Group Services- Commercial Services team is responsible for all revenue accounting for iron ore, salt, Copper, bauxite and alumina sales for Pacific region. This includes ensuring that appropriate credit risk mitigation tools are in place, appropriate shipping-related documents are produced, and that commercial invoices and other documents are produced to banks/customers in a timely, accurate manner to ensure the maximization of cash flow.
This role is a great opportunity for a professional who is eager to progress into a role with end-to-end accountability and responsibility for our CTC process and has the experience in supporting the development of new KPIs, system enhancements, and process automation.
Working within the Commercial Services Team and reporting to the GS-CS Senior Advisor, you will be responsible for: Key Accountabilities: Source and report on operational invoicing matters Maintain relevant sales databases in relation to invoicing Oversee accurate reparation, issuance, vetting and presentation of Letter of Credit (LC)/shipping documents to ensure compliant, timely shipments across the portfolio Manage bank interactions for confirmations, discrepancy resolution and fee negotiations to secure competitive outcomes for the business Strengthen LC/Authorization to Load (ATL) reporting governance and ensure timely, reliable updates to internal and external stakeholders Support business process and automation improvements to effectively and efficiently deliver customer service solutions to the business Support compliance with Rio Tinto policies in the area of invoicing Support Supervisor in operational matters and help provide guidance to junior team members Ensure adherence to standard documentation procedures, SLAs and internal controls across the team Manage individual knowledge levels, identifying areas for growth and development.
Working closely with multiple stakeholders to improve the level of services and processes to meet the business requirements and maintaining a positive relationship. Contribute to our Digital Transformation Program and ERP modernization initiative Activities & Tasks: Generate invoices and prepare shipping documents for presentation to banks or to send to customers; Monitor shipment execution and ensure cash collections for the business units are met timely.
Execute and run reports and procedures required for month-end activities Support Data Analysis/Reporting activities Execute and run reports and procedures required for month-end activities Lead audit and financial queries, when required. Support SAP projects and enhancements for CTC process Support improvements initiatives with focus on quick-win automations aiming at enhancing efficiency.
Maintain management reporting – keeping team reports up-to-date from both functional and data perspective and maintaining internal databases and systems. Supervise preparation, issuance and checking of shipping documents, ensuring team adherence to LC terms and contract requirements Review and validate Proforma LC Applications created for customers Oversee end‑to‑end LC execution Review and endorse LC document presentations, ensuring accuracy of SAP‑generated financial documents and compliance with LC conditions.
