Role Summary This role develops, implements and manages the incident management program and operations, acting as a point of escalation for junior peers. This role also investigates cyber incidents, coordinates response efforts, and analyzes data from CND tools to ensure swift resolution and improved security practices.
Responsibilites 1. Leads the incident response team in addressing and managing the aftermath of a security breach or attack. Manages the resolution of the most complex security related issues elevated from staff and clients. 2. Consults on the development of multi-year incident action plans and leads the implementation.
Ensures the delivery of solutions in a timely manner. 3. Reviews and oversees incident requests, priorities, escalation, and resolution activities. Works to ensure a balance between operational and information security needs. Identifies computer security requirements for new systems and/or processes under development. 4.
Monitors and improves the documentation and reporting processes for incident status and results. Identifies opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of processes and procedures. 5. Partners with stakeholders across the enterprise to identify and analyze vulnerabilities.
Consults on incident management and mitigation. 6. Represents the department in meetings with leadership and audit team. Applies results of audits and determines resolution strategy. 7. Trains and coaches junior staff on incident response procedures and serves as an escalation point for inquiries and issues. 8.
Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned. 9. Investigate and analyze all response activities related to cyber incidents within the network environment or enclave, ensuring quick identification and resolution of issues. 10.
Coordinate with internal teams and external entities for effective incident handling, ensuring swift resolution and continuous improvement of security practices. 11. Collect and correlate data from various Computer Network Defense (CND) tools such as intrusion detection system alerts, firewall logs, network traffic logs and host system logs to identify and evaluate security events.
Qualifications and Skills Minimum 8 years of experience in incident response, cybersecurity operations, or threat management with a focus on complex security incidents. Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) in relevant fields such as Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or Information Technology, or a Master’s degree/Diploma in Computer Science or Cybersecurity.
Experience with threat detection and response tools Strong understanding of network protocols, cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, MITRE ATT&CK), and incident response methodologies. Hands-on experience with vulnerability assessment tools and techniques; knowledge of threat intelligence platforms and alert correlation.
Must have working knowledge of Agile environments, ticketing systems (e.g., JIRA, ServiceNow), and documentation/reporting standards. Exposure to cloud security concepts and tools (AWS, Azure) Location This role is based in Hyderabad, Telangana at Vanguard’s India office.
