The Senior Executive Strategy & Planning Manager is a key member of a senior executive’s Chief of Staff organization, playing a pivotal role in shaping and supporting the organization’s strategic initiatives and leading the development of AI agent-driven automation across the Chief of Staff function.
This role sits at the center of the Product & Engineering (P&E) organization’s leadership operating model, working directly with the CIO and their senior leadership team in a fast-paced environment to ensure the organization is moving with clarity, alignment, and velocity against its most important priorities.
The role provides a unique opportunity to work with and learn from some of the senior-most technology leaders in the company. The work of this role spans five interconnected areas: Strategic materials development. This role owns creation of high-visibility content, including Board of Directors presentations, and executive-level materials reviewed by the CEO and senior company leadership, developed collaboratively with the Chief of Staff, CIO, and P&E senior leaders.
Requires the ability to navigate a large, complex organization to locate subject matter experts, validate data points, and surface accurate insights about P&E programs to build strategic materials. Provides the opportunity to create strategic narratives together with senior org leaders.
Rhythm of Business. This role supports the rhythm of business across the P&E leadership team, including driving agenda development, coordinating meetings and key forums, and ensuring the right conversations are happening at the right time. This includes, but is not limited to, identifying topics for discussions in the CIO’s staff meeting, recurring VP meetings, and VP+ team offsites, based on the organization’s progress against top priorities and the strategy.
Quarterly Delivery Plan ownership. This role works in tandem with operational teams, keeps the quarterly delivery plans current, and brings an informed perspective on quarterly organizational goal setting based on progress and strategic direction from senior leadership.
AI agent development. This role will lead development of AI agent solutions end to end (brainstorming through creation/scaling) to streamline recurring work across the Chief of Staff function, with the potential to scale proven solutions more broadly.
This is a defining priority of the role, and unique opportunity to operate at the forefront of how P&E is reimagining ways of working. Executive briefing and communications. Supports recurring and ad hoc briefing functions reaching the highest levels of the company.
The differentiating capability is navigating people and systems to construct an accurate, quality, and credible story quickly. At various times this role will also serve as a proxy for the Chief of Staff, extending the Chief of Staff’s reach across functional partners and driving priorities forward.
Success in the role requires exceptional business acumen, discretion, a sense of urgency, strong project management skills, collaborative relationship-building, and executive presence. Equally important is hands-on experience with AI tools and an eagerness to keep experimenting, building, and growing as an agent developer.
Experience in strategy or management consulting is highly valued, given how much of this role centers on structuring complex problems, building and maintaining relationships, and constructing credible narratives at speed. Job Responsibilities : Drives the P&E organization’s rhythm of business and strategic agenda.
Partners with senior leaders to shape agendas for key leadership forums based on progress against organizational priorities. Facilitates QGP tracking with support of operational teams, and drives quarterly goal-setting, bringing an informed initial perspective to the CIO and senior leaders to finalize.
Designs, deploys, and manages AI agents that automate recurring analytical, reporting, and coordination workflows across the Chief of Staff team. Serves as the primary owner of the team’s agentic workflow portfolio, building or directing builds, managing performance, and scaling successful solutions over time.
Facilitates collaboration with cross-functional partners including Finance, Corporate Strategy, Consumer, Marketing, and Network across planning cycles and strategic projects. Creates and uses AI-assisted tools and processes to accelerate speed and improve the quality of executive-facing outputs.
Delivers on special and ad hoc projects tied to P&E’s strategic priorities. Navigates the organization to surface data points and insights needed for enterprise-level engagements such as executive briefings and business reviews. Prepares high-impact strategic materials including Board of Directors presentations and executive-level documents reviewed by the CEO and senior company leadership.
Creates overarching narratives, and navigates P&E to validate data points and insights, using AI-powered tools to improve development speed, while maintaining full ownership of accuracy, framing, and quality. Acts as a proxy for the Chief of Staff when necessary, driving priorities across key functional areas and championing the responsible adoption of AI automation practices within the team.
Education and Work Experience : Bachelor's Degree and 7 years of related work experience OR a combination of education and experience deemed equivalent (Required) 7-10+ years progressive experience and responsibility in corporate strategy, strategic planning, strategic operations, process design, or other strategic roles (Preferred) Foundational experience (0-2+ years) supporting an enterprise-level senior executive or other high-profile executive-facing role (Preferred) Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Communication - Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive-ready writing for slides, briefing documents, and leadership memos.
Communicates effectively internally, upward, and cross-functionally. Articulates visions, strategies, ideas, and proposals clearly and concisely. Quantitative Analytics - Strong analytical and structured-thinking skills, with the ability to synthesize quantitative inputs into clear executive narratives.
Strong bias toward data-based decision making. Financial Planning - Ability to interpret financial and operational results and translate them into executive-ready insights. Enterprise Acumen - Strong organizational skills at the Executive level.
Demonstrated understanding of high-performing organizations. Thrives in organizations that constantly adapt and evolve. Cross-Functional Relationships - Proven ability to work across organizational departments and develop strong relationships across a company.
Problem Solving - Comfortable working and leading in an environment of uncertainty and complexity, seeking solutions and driving toward resolution. AI Agent Development & Management - Strong understanding of agentic systems and hands-on experience designing, building, and managing AI-powered agents or automated workflows.
Has taken at least one agent from concept through deployment. Working familiarity with agent development tools such as Claude Code, the Anthropic SDK, Enterprise GPT, Cowork, or equivalent. Operates at the intersection of business strategy and intelligent automation.
Advanced Agent Orchestration & Scale - Experience deploying and operating multi-agent systems in production, including orchestration, evaluations, observability, prompt engineering, LLM tool-calling, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
Has scaled at least one agent solution to active users beyond initial pilot. Also Required: Business Acumen, Executive Leadership, People Management, Program Management, Risk Management, Stakeholder Management, Strategic Planning, and Strategic Thinking.
This position is based on-site at our Belleuve, WA office, with an expectation of five days per week in-person attendance. At least 18 years of age Legally authorized to work in the United States Pay Range: $109,600 - $197,800 Corporate Bonus Target: 20% The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role.
The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range. At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role.
Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
