We’re seeking an experienced App Transformation Subject Matter Expert (SME) for a 12-month fixed term contract to support the Commercial, Product and Design Directors in setting the strategic direction, definition, and performance of the My Sky App as a critical customer platform for the UK & Ireland.
Your role will be to ensure the App experience is cohesive, modern, high-performing and differentiated - championing a strong App culture and elevating capability and knowledge across teams. What you’ll do This is a critical role in accelerating the My Sky App’s maturity as a platform, embedding best practice, building capability within teams, and laying the foundations for sustained success. You’ll act as the App’s senior voice across the organisation, work in partnership with the teams accountable for delivery of the App experience and own the long-term My Sky App strategy.
Establish the long-term My Sky App Strategy, aligned to business goals and customer needs, integrating external trends, benchmarking, and innovation. Align App strategy with broader channel and digital strategy and Value Stream objectives, actively managing dependencies, risks, and opportunities.
Define, communicate, and ensure strategic alignment of App Epics & Capabilities for a unified user experience. Work in partnership with Heads of Product to prioritise and deliver App initiatives effectively across squads, in a logical high-impact sequence.
Establish a sustainable virtual ‘App horizontal’ across Agile Release Trains, creating a consistent voice for the App, acting as the central point for App leadership across portfolios. Monitor and drive App KPIs, set targets, analyse trends, and ensure continuous improvement plans are in place for both user experience and commercial results.
Drive the operating model, cadence, and rituals for how App priorities are defined, agreed, and delivered, in partnership with Product, Design, CX, Technology & Strategy teams. Identify skill gaps across squads, working with leaders to upskill colleagues through coaching and knowledge sharing.
Represent the App in senior stakeholder conversations, share updates, and drive organisation-wide engagement in its development. Foster a strong internal App culture and community across teams and domains, champion the App as a product and platform.
What you'll bring: ·You’ll bring deep App strategy expertise & transformation experience, paired with strategic thinking and stakeholder influence. You have proven success at defining and driving cross-Agile Release Train consistency, ensuring pace of transformation, as well as the right customer and business outcomes through mobile App product delivery.
A strategic mindset with a proven ability to define, communicate and execute a long-term product platform vision, especially for customer-facing mobile apps. Expert-level knowledge of App UX/UI, performance frameworks, release models, platform-specific capabilities (e.g. iOS/Android), and mobile innovation.
Senior product leadership in App strategy, delivery, or platform development, with proven successful app transformation achieving market-leading app experiences through Agile/SAFe delivery models. The ability to work independently and navigate matrix organisations, influence at senior level and balance priorities across multiple business areas and ARTs.
Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and cross-functional leadership, you’re able to deliver effectively through others. Proven accountability for customer outcomes and commercial performance in a mobile context. Experience working in or across Agile Release Trains or equivalent scaled Agile models.
Strong familiarity with iOS/Android release cycles, store guidelines & platform innovations preferred. Data-literate with ability to define and act on KPIs to drive performance. A passion for customer experience, design and platform-led thinking.
Experience in leading horizontal/platform product roles across ARTs or similar structures would be advantageous. The hybrid working expectations for this role are 3 days in the office per week. Your office base You can either be based from Osterley or Livingston . Osterley Our Sky Group HQ. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology and workspaces, there’s plenty of space to see your big ideas come to life.
