- Amazon is seeking a highly analytical Risk Manager to join the Global Risk & Business Continuity team within Compliance & Data Integrity (CDI), transforming Global Operations Support Services (GOSS) from reactive risk identification to proactive risk quantification. In this role you will build and maintain the risk modeling infrastructure that translates operational disruptions, vulnerabilities
- resilience gaps into quantified financial and operational impact scenarios — giving senior leaders the data-driven risk signals they need to make strategic decisions across the infrastructure portfolio. You will own the development of risk quantification models, forecasting frameworks
- scenario analyses. You'll build repeatable data pipelines from messy operational inputs, create reporting and dashboards that make risk exposure visible
- partner with senior risk leaders to turn business questions into quantitative approaches that hold up under scrutiny. This role requires a combination of analytical depth, data fluency

- maintain risk quantification models including scenario analyses, sensitivity models
- financial impact forecasts - Develop repeatable data pipelines that ingest operational, compliance
- financial data to feed risk models - Partner with Risk Assessment leads to translate business questions into quantitative approaches and validate model assumptions - Create dashboards, visualizations
- reporting mechanisms that make risk exposure visible and actionable for senior leaders - Partner with Enterprise Data Governance & Standards to define data quality requirements for risk model inputs and validate data pipeline reliability - Identify data quality gaps and work with Data Governance teams to improve input reliability - Iterate on methodology based on model performance, stakeholder feedback

- built on trusted data. The Global Risk & Business Continuity function quantifies operational risk to influence strategic decisions across the infrastructure portfolio, translating disruptions and resilience gaps into financial and operational impact scenarios. This function is distinct from Compliance Operations (adherence to rules) and Strategic Enablement (capital decisions). Global Risk provides the quantified risk signals both rely on - drawing on Data Governance for inputs, Regulatory Strategy for external drivers
- Compliance Operations for control effectiveness data.
- Experience in functional or operational data analysis, based on large volumes of data - Proven experience in risk management, quantitative risk analysis
- a related analytical field - Experience building or maintaining risk models, scoring frameworks
- quantitative assessment methodologies - Ability to communicate complex analytical outputs as clear business recommendations to senior managers and directors - Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Risk Management, Finance, Engineering, Data Science
- equivalent experience
- Master's degree in statistics, business analytics, data analytics, data science, computer science or related field - Experience with data scripting languages (e.g. SQL, Python, R etc.) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS
- Matlab) - Experience with probabilistic modeling techniques (Monte Carlo simulation, Bayesian analysis, regression-based forecasting) - Knowledge of risk frameworks (ISO 31000, COSO ERM) and how quantitative models support them - Background in operational risk, insurance/actuarial
