The AWS Data Center Systems team builds services to monitor and data center infrastructure controls monitoring and alerting systems. Our services directly contribute to the high availability of AWS data centers and Amazon’s sustainability goals. - graph networks. We are looking for a Software Development Engineer who is passionate about leading the architecture and development of application software that helps keep Amazon data centers running efficiently and securely. On any given day, we use Python, Java, Go, Lambda, DynamoDB
- CloudFormation, as well as other public AWS services and a host of Amazon-internal tools. Key job responsibilities In this role, you'll design, develop
- maintain the software systems that power AWS data center infrastructure planning and tracking. You'll build scalable solutions that ensure accurate representation of physical infrastructure—from power and cooling to network connectivity—enabling teams across AWS to make informed capacity decisions. You'll collaborate with senior engineers on system architecture while mentoring junior team members. You'll own features end-to-end: gathering requirements, designing APIs and data models, implementing robust solutions
- driving operational excellence through monitoring, alarming
- on-call support. You'll work to improve data quality, reduce manual interventions in automated pipelines
- eliminate operational toil. You'll partner with cross-functional teams to integrate infrastructure data across planning, design
- deployment workflows. - 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Experience programming with at least one software programming language - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing
