ROLE SUMMARY This position performs business operations planning and management for Vaccines Research and Development activities, to ensure timely and compliant conduct of vaccine development programs. The incumbent applies a comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical and vaccine research and development processes as well as budget planning expertise to independently guide cross-functional vaccine development program teams, formulating and delivering resource and funding plans required to secure program funding.

The incumbent provides input and influence to both program development and internal governance strategy and will independently provide consultation to vaccines leadership on resource deployment issues. Collaborates with, and serves as an advisor to, many external partners to ensure efficient and compliant business transactions are conducted, including finance, legal, Pfizer R&D and CDO partner lines, business technology, commercial functions and external vendors.

The incumbent will independently lead and project manage VRD process improvement initiatives and other non-portfolio facing projects and activities. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES Plays an active role in vaccine program teams, ensuring a complete and accurate record of planned activities, the budget and resources required to conduct them, key decision points and potential risks and opportunities is maintained.

Collaborates with internal and external partners to resolve issues of a complex nature when funding and/or resourcing are at risk of being on critical path. Acts as subject matter expert to program teams on issues relating to governance, funding authorization, engagement with partner lines, contracting, tracking of internal resources and generation of program resourcing plans.

Supports business development activities as a key member of due diligence and external funding teams. Works with internal subject matter experts to define product development plans, generate aligned cross-functional development cost and resource estimates and negotiate with external partners to achieve mutually agreeable scenarios.

Responsible for gathering and maintaining projections of clinical and non-clinical assay demand and developing tools to generate estimates of internal and external resourcing required to deliver them. Acts as SME for finance business partners in management of associated budget (>$100M per year).

Represents VRD Business Operations in cross-functional teams tasked with developing Business Technology solutions to improve efficiency and/or effectiveness of VRD activities. Manage issues relating to budget and resource planning in external engagements and collaborations.

Work closely with VRD scientists, development management and leadership to ensure alignment on objectives, resourcing to achieve them, timelines and prioritization. Proactively bring forward ideas for process improvements and more efficient operations.

Develop and when appropriate deliver presentations for Pfizer senior-level management relating to VRD topics QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree required, MBA preferred 8+ years of experience in the Biopharmaceutical industry, particularly in R&D Business Operations, Finance and Development Management.

Familiarity with Pfizer preferred. Demonstrated ability to draft financial / operational PowerPoint presentations according to prescribed templates and to develop concise informative templates when required. Demonstrated ability to design and create complex Excel models Skilled at assessing financial information and conveying summarizing key information verbally or in writing Experienced and effective in communicating and interacting with senior level stakeholders.

Experienced in managing multiple, competing tasks simultaneously; defining and executing complex strategies. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams, across multiple lines. Demonstrated understanding of vaccine research and development process.

Demonstrated resourcefulness with proven ability to anticipate needs, prioritize responsibilities, manage multiple priorities with tight timelines, and take initiative with a minimal amount of supervision. Strong project management and skills with demonstrated attention to detail.

Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS Standard office environment, with the individual co-located in open space or workstation with other staff and scientists. Occasional access to laboratory which will require appropriate EHS training be completed.

No significant physical requirements except significant amounts of computer/keyboard and phone use. NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS Some travel may be required – Up to 10%. Relocation support available Work Location Assignment: Hybrid 
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $176,600.00 to $294,300.00.

In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
