The Impact You’ll Make in this Role The Global Category Transactional Support role provides transactional and operational support across procurement processes, with a primary focus on master data maintenance, system updates, reporting support, and the delivery of standardized procurement services in line with customer requirements and process guidelines.
This position helps ensure the quality, accuracy, and harmonization of procurement-related data, including vendor and material master data, while supporting global back-office operations across systems, time zones, and language requirements.
At more advanced levels, the role also involves conducting root cause analysis, identifying systemic issues, recommending process and control improvements, and leading standardization or continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen data quality, compliance, service delivery, and operational efficiency through analytics and cross-functional collaboration.
Your key responsibilities would be to: Provide transactional procurement support through maintenance of vendor and material master data, system updates, and delivery of standardized daily services in line with customer requirements and process guidelines.
Ensure data quality, harmonization, and reporting accuracy across procurement-related datasets to support operational visibility, performance monitoring, and effective back-office operations in a global environment. Monitor process compliance and support standardization, globalization, and control enhancement efforts to strengthen service quality, consistency, and operational reliability.
At advanced levels, perform root cause analysis, conduct data-driven investigations, and identify systemic improvement opportunities to enhance procurement processes and service delivery. Support or lead continuous improvement initiatives, provide analytics-based insights to sourcing or category teams, and contribute to ad-hoc assignments or projects delegated by the supervisor.
Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Economics, or a related field. 7+ years of overall professional experience, including 4-6 years in procurement, procurement operations, data or business support, shared services, supplier management, sourcing operations, or process improvement roles.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify actionable improvements, and support performance tracking through reporting and dashboards. Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to work effectively across global teams and support stakeholder needs.
Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP or equivalent platforms, with exposure to reporting and operational data analysis. Familiarity with procurement master data processes, including Vendor, Material, and UNSPSC, along with experience supporting global back-office or procurement support operations.
Demonstrated participation in continuous improvement, globalization, or standardization initiatives to enhance process efficiency and service quality.
