Your Impact The Senior Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for driving excellence in product quality across Lowe's Private Brands and select National Brands. This role provides QA leadership for strategic product categories, manages new item introductions, and ensures strict compliance with Lowe's QA testing programs through advanced technology frameworks.

The Senior QA Engineer partners closely with Global QA, Global Merchandising, internal testing teams, third-party labs, and vendor partners to execute Lowe's QA program requirements. In addition to leading supplier quality oversight and continuous improvement initiatives, this role serves as a subject matter expert, offering guidance to other QA team members and shaping best practices in QA engineering processes and product category standards.

What You Will Do Provide QA support for strategic Global Merchandising product development projects, Product Line Reviews, and both private and national brand initiatives. Oversee product and quality engineering activities for new and existing products as well as vendor partnerships.

Assess project scope with critical thinking and stakeholder input, recommending the most effective QA methodologies such as stage-gate processes, APQP workbooks, and related documentation. Ensure clear communication, strong follow-through, and on-time delivery of project plans.

Guide engineering team members toward optimal solutions and demonstrate best practices that build alignment and support effective decision-making. Apply QA systems, tools, and procedures to manage projects, testing programs, and supplier quality.

Lead activities in new item tracking, performance specification and protocol testing, claims validation, and data analysis to generate insights for decision-making and investigations. Oversee reviews of customer returns, vendor change requests, and corrective actions to drive continuous improvement.

Champion initiatives to streamline QA processes and ensure alignment with global QA teams. Lead the creation of Lowe’s Private Brand performance specifications, including test plan development, product benchmarking, product testing, and implementation of performance standards.

Ensure vendor compliance with Lowe’s QA testing requirements, including protocol and performance specification testing. Leverage systems, communication tools, and training resources to support vendor testing activities, with an emphasis on Domestic Private Brand items.

Review failed test reports, align stakeholders on disposition, and drive revisions to specifications when necessary. Continuously monitor testing activity against Lowe’s performance criteria to identify and initiate specification updates. Evaluate vendor data and third-party reports to support packaging claims for Lowe’s Private Brands.

Provide expert recommendations to Packaging and Legal teams on claim validity based on industry knowledge and testing expertise. Lead efforts to improve customer satisfaction, product quality, and process performance using VOC data and QA metrics.

Provide insights and quality support to Merchandising, PDM, vendors, and cross-functional enterprise partners. Collaborate with vendors and enterprise teams to prioritize corrective actions using risk- and impact-based analysis. Execute containment and product service projects (e.g., stop sales, DC holds, reworks) across the supply chain, ensuring clear communication with QA leadership and stakeholders on progress and resolution.

Establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to drive visibility, alignment, and collaboration across QA and Merchandising workstreams. Partner with international QA teams (Shanghai, India, Vietnam), cross-functional enterprise groups, and external vendors and labs to achieve collective quality goals.

Maintain deep knowledge of design, manufacturing, engineering, and testing principles across assigned categories. Represent Lowe’s in trade-specific committees and maintain professional memberships and certifications where applicable. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree Engineering or other related Technical Science field or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable 5 Years experience as Product Engineer in Design, Manufacturing, Test Lab, or Retail environment 2 years experience utilizing engineering tools such as Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Engineering Design Review, Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control (DMAIC) process, and Lean Manufacturing Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally.

Technical report writing skills as well as the ability to communicate effectively with non-technical persons. Ability to negotiate effectively with other departments, vendors, factories, and 3rd party test labs. Highly organized Extensive familiarity with industry related to intended brand/product category.
